Hi,
Its me my dh, children aged 3, 9, 12 and 13, 1 dog and a cat.. We are all vegetarian and we use soya milk instead of cows milk. I meal plan everyweek and cook from scratch. I have just used recipes off the board for my online shop. I have just put it all through and it has come to £51.23 including the £5.75 delivery charge.
I wondered if anyone was managing to get it down any cheaper than I am??
Love to hear from you

Hi, since price increases we are spending more often £60-£65 per week. Last week was £59 including delivery and this week was £55 i believe, but i know im going to run out of a few little bits and bobs!
So after yesterdays disaster of typing for half an hour with some recipes and then it zapping somewhere other than the board, here what we had for tea last night!
Majority of value range!
1 onion diced
Tin value tomato soup
Tin Chickpeas
1 frozen bag of value vegetables
2 tsp horseradish sauce
1 tablespoon of onion gravy
lots of potatoes mashed
I boiled the vegetables for 5 minutes, drained them, then mixed with soup, chickpeas, horseradish, onion gravy powder. Poured into a large rectangle oven dish and topped with lots of mashed potato. Baked in oven for about 40 minutes until nice and crispy. This smelt great and was very good value for the 6 of us.
Slow cooker value curry with the famous 4p curry sauce, very mild!
1 bag frozen value vegetable (which is a mix of carrots, brocolli and cauli)
1 tin 4p curry sauce
1 tin chopped tomatoes
2 onions diced
some mushrooms and celery if you like
Chickpeas
I bung this all in the slow cooker and cook on low for 7 hours. You can chose to leave out chickpeas if you don like them, or replace with butter beans.
If the sauce is too runny you can thicken with cornflour and water towards end of cooking time.
I only used half a tin of curry sauce this week as we had the other half to dip our hm oven chips in on saturday!and this was equally as tasty!
As we had a small bowl of curry left over, i zapped that up in the blender the following day with some vegetable stock and had enough soup to feed 2 of us.so no wastage!
Im also enjoying making our own cereal, kids love granola, and its working out so much cheaper. I have been using value porridge oats and value sultanas, we vary it each week, going to add some grated chocolate to it next week!0 -

Hiya, I rated the top one 2 stars as there is a lot of eggs, pasta, or cheese in the meals. I see they keep away from meat quite a bit to bring the price down and only use a little veg.
Intresting though! Thanks for showing us.
I have just been looking at my January bill for food, toilet rolls, bubble bath, washing liquid and contact lens fluid, etc....
For 4 adults and 1 large dog so counting as 5 is £284.

So it's main meals only, 71.5p per main meal per person.
I think it's a good facility for people starting out on their money saving journey, but I bet there's a lot of old stylers doing evening meals for less than 71p :money::money::money:
