£50 a week to feed family of 6, does anyone do it cheaper??

  • Thanks all - yes I could make cheaper meals too but it is meant as a guide for those of us who are not so in the know. They have over 4,000 recipes on the site and you can click an ingredient and it will come up with lots of ideas which us OSers can tweak to make them cheaper x

    We've had rissotto for lunch, pudding rice, a little butter,an onion, a green pepper,a red pepper and some peas. a sprinkle of oregano and a chicken stock cube. really delicious,and cheap.

    Hiya, how spooky! Risotto here too with the juices from a rubber chicken and sweetcorn and ground black pepper :rotfl:great minds eh? x

    When we needed to cut our food budget I 'invested' in a slow cooker. Cheaper cuts of meat usually need longer cooking time and delicious stews can be made and 'bulked out' with winter veg. Especially good with winter coming up.
