Hi,
Its me my dh, children aged 3, 9, 12 and 13, 1 dog and a cat.. We are all vegetarian and we use soya milk instead of cows milk. I meal plan everyweek and cook from scratch. I have just used recipes off the board for my online shop. I have just put it all through and it has come to £51.23 including the £5.75 delivery charge.
I wondered if anyone was managing to get it down any cheaper than I am??

Love to hear from you

I have just made a lovely vegetable crumble, twice baked.

    1 sweetheart cabbage
    bag of new potatoes
    onion
    vegetable stock
    bunch of carrots

cooked it all together in slow cooker, mixed in some onion gravy granules. Put it in the fridge for the night, then topped with crumble, made from plain flour and margarine, then baked in the oven for an hour. Really delicious!

Maybe show us what you bought and how much each item cost, and we'll be able to asssist.

Who delivers your shopping? I have Tesco and the delivery is £3.99. I always get a code from the Discout Codes board, so have never had to pay that, anyway :T

My challenge this week was to feed 4 (adults) on £100 and I've got about £2.50 to last until Wednesday! I also have two small dogs so I buy a few cartons of dog food into that.

We are meat eaters and I also cook from scratch.

You do well if you can spend just that amount on SIX people!:T

My challenge is to feed 2 adults, a kitty and a 13 month old on £40 (ideally less) a week, so am impressed what you manage OP :).
We are omnivores and tend to cook most things from scratch
    Edited to say:
We do buy some value stuff (tinned toms, some tinned veg, flour etc) but also some more expensive stuff too (free range eggs and some butcher meat), we have a LO my concern at the moment is healthy and cheap, not one or the other!

Just had to come back on and see how you're managing to feed 6 on £50 Mum of 4.

I see the contents of our trolleys are very different. There are a lot of things on your list that I wouldn't buy - white bread, shop scones, supermarket eggs and a lot more tinned stuff than I'd buy too. When I say I cook from scratch, I MEAN from scratch - so definitely no pkts of custard powder or Instant Noodles.

I can't see any FRUIT mentioned in your list - we get through loads in a week and a whole lot more fresh veg than you list as well.

I don't mean to be rude but although we eat meat (and I realise you are veggies) my lot would throw up their hands in horror at all the E additives, preservatives and so on in all those packets and tins. I think the only tins I buy are tinned tomatoes, because they are so versatile. Oh and tinned tuna and sometimes salmon.
