    You're welcome :)

As for the budget, I allow extra money for the extra week since my budget is based on the more common four week month.

Remember not to be hard on yourself, keep the changes easy and comfortable because if you start finding it difficult you might get discouraged and give up.

I did fairly well last month, sticking to about £120 for two people, but i wasn't strict enough and ended up chucking a couple of things away.

I'm going for £120 again this month, made up of two main shops and a few trips to Tesco for bits'n'bobs.

I'm planning my meals and shopping list today, but i'm sure i could cut back! :o

    Good luck all!

Joining in again this month...slight overspend last month

Have yet to find by how much...but everything is stocked up and I won't have to do a shop till next week which means that my shopping month will still only be 4 weeks.

So £70 per week for 7 of us. I'm hoping to pick up some Christmas food out of that as well.....watch this space

Joining in again this month. Went slightly over Budget last month, but feel that I have bought more sensibly than usual. So Budget for November is £215. Usually do an online shop every other week and get smaller items in at locla shops in between, but have managed to last an extra week this time around, so am going to try one online shop per Month.

Have been looking carefully at what I'm spending and looking for Areas to improve.

Going to give this a try, I've just started out money saving and so based my budget on my old food spend i.e. £221 for me plus the OH on the weekends, that's all food and cleaning/household items. This is probably the highest food budget around here.

I've spent this month trying to spend as little as possible on food etc and so think it's time to make it official and go for the challenge. I'm aiming to bring down the spending in November to £30 per week, ie a saving of £88 over the month. The month for me runs from October 29th to November 29th.

Watching the October Challenge, I've decided to give this a go this month. Is going to be a bit difficult as we're away on hols for 2 weeks, but still need to leave the house/dog/cat sitter some money for food etc.

I'm going to go for £40 a week - we usually spend around £80 (me, DH and SD at weekends + cat and dog), so it's gonna be a bit of a challenge, but I've been trying to cut down the last month and I noticed a lot less waste by planning my meals, and home baking. So budget for month is £160 (£40/week for 3 weeks we're here and £40 for friend whose staying whilst we're away). This includes toiletries, food and pet food.

    Here goes....... _pale_

I've decided that I'm going to go for £100 for the month - i.e. £20 per week - to cover all food and household/cleaning items and everyday toiletries. Unfortunately everything seems to have run out at the same time - loo roll, washing tablets, shampoo, conditioner, dishwasher tablets etc - so it's going to be a tough start to the month.
  • I am going to join again this month, my october challenge isn't over yet as we go from the 1st to the 1st. I know i went over as i still need to do a shop @ tescos which will probably be approx £25-30 plus i need to fill up my car for work :(

I don't know if my target was too drastic, so i've deicided to increase my Nov grocery budget to £200 and petrol to £150 and see how i go.

Will be starting on Friday, I know I went a bit over last month but couldn't really keep track as I bought so much from the market. I know I only spent about £40 on meat though and I have loads left in the freezer. Had to do a top up shop today but only because I don't want to go shopping again until Wednesday when the kids are back at school.

I'm going to join in again. Not too bad last month, but over spent by about £30. Compared to what we had been spending on food this is still good. I am going to go for the £60 p/w again. Local Co-op closed down on sat, so that will probably save me a bit of money. A 5 week month for us too, starts on 31st oct.
