  • I've just done my second shop of Novembers challenge, (I know its still October but OH gets paid on 20th of month so I start from then) This week I bought extra a battery for DD1's tamagotchi (£2.99) and two "luxury" bouquets and some "luxury" choc chip cookies for a friend and her dd as they gave us a dustbin liner full to the brim of outgrown clothes (most were next) for my dd's, and some extra fresh chicken breasts and steak mince so I can cook some meals for the freezer tomorrow and I'm still under budget.

I so love this challenge! :money:

Well over the last 2 days, I've done a big 'month' shop (for all toiletries/cleaning products/non-perishables etc.) Spent £32.94 on toiletries/household stuff (Wilkinson/Superdrug) and my Tesco shop was £70.03 (including nappies, tons of pasta, tuna, t-bags etc etc.)

During the week, I've also spent £2.24 on milk and £2 on biscuits at Poundland.

Therefore, total so far for November's budget is £105.11!! However,we have tons of supplies and should only have to top up on fresh stuff/bread & some meat etc over next few weeks. (Here's hoping anyway!!!!)

Well, I started planning November's shopping over a week ago. The schedule had me doing my first shop this week but I've just been sent away on a course for a couple of days so won't need to do any shopping until next weekend :j I guess that's one way of sorting out the five-weeks-in-the-month problem! I'll report back once I've done my first shop of the month - fingers crossed that I can stay on budget this month.

I'm in again, too. Made a mullock of last month's budget again, so am still aiming for £350 for all food, groceries (2 adults, 1 13yr old) & also some of Christmas shopping.
DH gets paid 31 OCt, so month will start 1 Nov. Got to pay for some new furniture on Thurs, not incl. in budget but coming out of current a/c so will HAVE to spend very carefully for the rest of the month.

    Count me in :D

My challenge will be from 1st to 30th November, and total budget for that time is £320. That's for all food, toiletries and cleaning products for myself, dh and 3 children aged under 5 (excluding nappies).

Our month started on 20 Oct. This month, according to Money, if I don't take any money out of the bank or spend anything more, we will have about 15 left at the end of the month. I foresee a small overdraft coming along!
The trouble is, DH is paid a very small salary, but bonuses make it up to something we can live on. But last month we went on holiday, so he only got 2 weeks worth of bonus.
So this month I have made a menu plan, and with store cupboard ingredients & what we had in the freezer, I have actually managed to plan meals for all but 5 days in the month - also we have been invited out for 3 Sundays this month, which is 3 meals less to worry about!
So far my food spend for the November budget has been £39.74
I haven't set an actual food budget amount this month: my aim is just to spend as little as possible!
  • I'm in again this month :D
after last months disaster :o I am aiming for no more than £200.00 for 2 adults and 3 children starting 1st nov - 30th nov
    so wish me luck
and good luck to you all

Now I'm back, I'd best restart how I mean to go on ... although I have fallen off the wagon slightly ...

My November shopping challenge began on Friday evening. My weekly budget for two of us is £50, but as we're going organic, that may increase. This weekend I spent just over £60 on the weekly shop. I'll see what the average works out at for this month and rethink the budget to suit.
