Well, I'll come in on target this month but it's not as good as it looks. I was away on business for almost a week so I really should be at least £20 under target. I know exactly where I went wrong - a couple of lunches at Pret a Manger because I couldn't be bothered to make a packed lunch. It's the first time that I've included Pret lunches in my grocery budget but it's been a real eyeopener as to how much extra gets spent due to sheer laziness. Must be more disciplined next month.
One more shop to go for this month. Am going to see if I can keep it to an absolute minimum - just fresh fruit, veg & dairy stuff - and use up some of the stuff in the cupboards and freezer.0 -
Well thats the first challenge over and done with. I've managed to come in under at £389.48 from £400 but am sure there will be forgotten purchases that havent made it into the total.
For decembers challenge I am writing down every purchase and quantities of items so I can more easily identify problem spending.
I have had my december shop delivered today, first time having a months stuff delivered at once- not much fun to put away. Hopefully it will negate the almost daily trip to the corner shop for milk/bread etc (and the choccie bars that go with it) thus saving more pennies. The only shopping I will need now are for fresh ss milk and fruit/veg.
Target for december (5 weeks 25th nov-22nd dec) is £380.WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -
My budget for November was £300.00 for 4 adults (2 teenage sons counted as adults) plus dogs and cat,I have done very well and I spent £290.00 :T
My cupboards are full,my freezer is full and I have my turkey for christmas and a large leg of lamb,so I am going to spend as little as possible in December :j £250.00 is my budget but hopefully it will be less. :beer:0 -
Hooray, made it! Monthly shopping came to £160.17 this month, against the budget of £185. This should mean that I have £24.83 to add to my PIN money, but I’m going to take out money for a friend’s Christmas joint. Even considering lowering the budget for December (we’re actually away for a week over the festivities at family) ….. umm…………..0

My November Grocery challenge is officially over! I went around £10 over budget, but I'm not entirely suprised as it has been a 5 week month for me. One of the things I really noticed was how much extra I spent on little bits through the week (usually milk & bread) - I will have to build extra into my budget for that.
