Doint really well, less than a week left, bought most of the weeks shopping yesterday, will need to buy milk and things like that during the week so £10 maximum, so well under budget for the 1st time. yippeee.

Yeah, SuiDreams, that's great. How's everyone else doing?

Doing OK at ours: spent £131.17 out of £185, so £53.83 left to spend, for 1 and a half shops. Supplies are in surprisingly good shape: even got some yogurts to "carry forward" to next week, so, dare I say it, we may even come in a little UNDER budget.

Spent £40 over the weekend out of a 2 weekly budget of £50. However, when you take out the Xmas spends (ie, I bought a present, some chocs, and some crisps to put away for Xmas) this comes down to around £25. So I'm doing really well. In about 2 weeks time the plan is to do an online Tesco shop...and a large one at that. it'll be the last one before Xmas and I plan to fill the freezer to bursting point ready for the chaos that is the Xmas / new Year fortnight.

I know its the most expensive, it just that I've always shopped at the weekend & that's when everything starts to run out!! Note to self - GET MORE ORGANISED!!

However, not shopping on-line at moment as Tesco have sent me 4 x £10 off £30 shop vouchers (for use in-store!) Went on Sunday (it was HEAVING - did kinda make me wish I'd just ordered online instead!) and spent £53.81 (well, £66.98 before voucher/BOGOFs etc)

It means I've only got left £25.26 for the rest of November - I think I'm going to struggle to come in under budget:o .

This months total is Particularly good as, I have bought quite a lot of toiletries this month, that should last us a while. The one thing I haven't managed to cut down on is spending on Toilet Roll, Usually buy Andrex puppy on a Roll 9 packs (12 when on offer), have tried the Lidl 4ply ones for the last couple of weeks 10 rolls for £2.99, don't think this is saving me any money though as they have less sheets per roll. Any ideas anyone?

Hi there! Well I went over budget this weekend and i still have another eight days to go :(
Can't really say that one thing in particular went wrong for me, however I have come down from spending £50 per week on food to just over £30 within one month, and barely noticed the difference to be honest. Over the month I've really started to know what's in my fridge and shelves (no freezer :( ) and started writing lists. I'm not quite at the menu planning stage at the moment (sometimes it's nice to whip up something you fancy) but I do find myself mentally planning one or two days ahead now. I've been shopping at the local market for veg and fruit every weekend now, and so it's just somerfield for tins and diary.

The next eight days shouldn't be too bad .. I've got all my food in for the week (just need milk), away on the weekend at hen do where i will be fed for free, OH is dealing with dinner on sunday night, so just monday and tuesday to scrape by for ...

This may sound strange but squish the rolls slightly before putting them on the holder.

Means it is not free running so in theory the should use less. I now have to do it anyway as the rolls are to big for the holder. They will not turn around if I don't.

If you aren't sure whether they are cheaper or not, check how much you spend on them in a month - you may get through more individual loo rolls per month than with the dearer ones, but is the entire monthly loo roll spend more or less?!

ps; I think the Lidl ones are great - look & feel really posh, but very cheap!
