HI Rambler ~ it's nice to have another professional binger on here rather than these amature occational over eaters ;) Thanks for all your comments :T Glad things are going well for you at the mo even though it is tough sometimes. We just gotta keep on going. How long have you been trying this time? Have you lost any yet or is it early days? YOu don't have to tell us if it's private matey that's fine, we are just nosey that's all ;) I have lost 10 stone 3 times and this is the final time ~ I aint gonna put it all back on again  My poor little old body will give up :o Not one to miss out on all the fun I've also been dangerously underweight in my teens. I can remember being barely 7 st and thinking what a porker I was

Hi Newlywed ~ Mr Frog says that but he's usually right! Then I get the test " what was I saying then?"

Procrastinator I love cauli but havent had it for months. Perhaps it feels like a winter food but I fancy some now ~ might get some this week.

Has anyone tried the Vegan Cheese. It wasn't very yummy. It was very salty and bitty and not very cheesy. It tasted a bit like cardboard that had been on the floor for a long time (possibly under the settee) and covered in sand. Has anyone had a nice version?

    Morning everyone!

Rambler - well done on staying so positive, like you say, it's a struggle but i think the longer you go on, the easier it gets. i also find that keeping myself really really busy helps ;o)
as for portion size, i don't really eat tinned soup but will always have a huge bowl of HM, and i usually have a whole tin of spaghetti with 1 or 2 slices of toast (oops!).

i didn't do too badly at bookgroup - had a handful of olives (in brine so think they're ok) and some veggies with a little bit of dip, avoided the crisps etc. stuck to soft drink instead of wine and had 2 small pieces of pizza. however, i went home before i went and was so hungry that i had a tin of tuna with 3 oatcakes, haha! still, stopped me eating more pizza and crisps i suppose!

    today for me:
got up at 6 to go to spin but my train was cancelled so i missed it :( had a short session in the gym but didn't really have any motivation by then
b - bran flakes, all bran and sultanas with skimmed milk + a handful of oat cereal before i went to the gym
l - tin of tuna and oatcakes (late home last night so didn't have any lunch made)
    s - yoghurt
d - not sure, maybe smoked cod with runner beans and some new pots

    have a good one everybody

I get that too - he gets miffed when I can repeat it word for word and then STILL gets in a huff and says he's not going to talk to me coz I'm not listening (meaning not giving complete undivided attention )

I went through a diet of no cow's milk (due to eczema) and tried goat's cheese (ok if it's mild), sheeps cheese (again if mild), tried sheep yoghurt - uck uck uck uck _pale_ and some veggie cheese and decided it was easier to just give up cheese!!

On a personal note - yesterday was difficult for me. I struggled, but managed to hold myself - just - by counting what I was eating. I set myself a limit on what I can eat and I kept to it - so big hugs to me again.

I just have to remember I will struggle, but also remember every day I don't binge is a sucess and keep positive.

Today's food (maybe just a little different today)

    3 wheetabix and milk
Bowl of Tomato soup and 1 piece of fresh bread
    Jelly
    Yogout and frozen fruit
Fresh pea soup and 1 bread and ham

Just for today I aim to be positive....

Big hugs to everyone on their personal highs and battles

    Hugs

Here's my version of veggie shepherds pie, I don't like gravy so it's a bit different!

    Lentil & Vegetable Potato Pie

    Ingredients
    500g peeled weight, potato
    1 onion, finely chopped
    1 clove garlic, minced
40g green or brown dried lentils
    1 leek, sliced
    50g mushrooms, sliced
    1 carrot, diced
    100ml veg stock
    400g tin tomatoes
    bay leaf
    dried oregano
    fresh basil
    fresh chives
    dash skimmed milk
    tsp wholegrain mustard
Parmesan cheese to taste – 1.5 per tbsp
    Procedure
    Pre-heat oven to 190C.

Dice the peeled potato and boil til cooked.
Meanwhile, fry the onion in a splash of water for a few mins til softened. Add the garlic, bayleaf, oregano, leek, tomato, lentils, mushrooms, carrot and stock. Simmer for about 25 mins til lentils are tender and you have a thick sauce. Add a little water during cooking if needed. Add the fresh herbs and season. Remove bayleaf.

Drain the potatoes and mash with the milk and mustard.

Put the veg & lentil mixture into a gratin dish, cover with the mash. Rake the mash with a fork and sprinkle on the cheese.
Bake for about 15 mins, til the crust is beginning to brown.

Serve with steamed green veg to make a really filling meal.

    I'm back!

General consensus is.....................there isn't one  but the best one's are Redwood Cheesly melting and Toffuti soft cheese.

I'm going for a walk at lunch and I go past a very good Healthfood/veggie shop/cafe, I'll pop in and have a look what's on offer.........might get a veggie haggis while I'm there

another professional binger here :hello: :EasterBun although i am more determined then ever and although i have slipped up a couple of times i'm not gonna curse myself forever for it as i have so many times before and then just give in altogether for months.
i comfort eat emotionally and also when i'm stressed its always after the event i think i over analize everything i would say everyday my sons behavior(he has adhd & learning difficulties) is devasting and for a little while i thought he was doing it on purpose :o (really hated me or something) because i really couldnt understand , but i realised i had to change my way of thinking as he cant change his to try and understand him which i can now do mostly although i admit not always :o it really makes me feel i have failed him although i know deep down i havnt as i fought for years just to get someone to listen.
i think i just got myself into one big vicious circle and it went on for far to long it was weird i looked at a picture of myself i was 19 and 13stone and i still felt exactly the same about myself as i did about 8 weeks even though i was 26stone lighter at the time , it was than i realised i had confused the fat with the person i was making them one in the same so i thought i was fat , ugly and a horrible person because of my weight and i now realise that i'm not , yes i am very overweight but i'm a nice person and i'm no supermodel but my looks arnt too bad and so i realised i loved who i was because i was me and because i loved me i wanted to lose the weight for my health and to make the best of myself because i finally realised i am worth it and i think thats how i always give up so quickly before because i really believed i didnt matter.
I havnt had a partner in 10 yrs , to be honest i am really lonely (i know saddo) but i never thought any man would ever be interested in me and just time went by and here i am 33 yrs old and i want more than this life i put round myself hidden away so no-one can laugh at me , well f**k you (not you lot) but laugh if you want cos i aint listening anymore and i know it will take a long time but i will get there and maybe there be a few blips along the way i'm not perfect but thats ok i've finally realised no-one is ....

sorry i went on abit and got abit deep

    Lainie x

my 35th birthday is in 2 yrs i'm having a night on the town it will be the first time i've been out in 10 yrs so i think i'll deserve it.
