Not a lot of mention of flying here!

I have spent the day chasing things that are owed to us. Hopefully we can survive this month on repaid debs. I hate having to ask again!

My flying at the moment is still mainly geared towards clearing up detritus. Soon we will have clear floors!

:oSSL - Sorry but I am a Human Resources Manager/Consultant three days a week. Thanks for the compliment- I am often told that I am the most unlikely HR person  , I am more the woman off green wing than the one on dinner ladies!

So far today I have cleaned the major hotspot that is the kitchen shelf - the supposedly daily use tub that takes up half the shelf IYKWIM. Spent most of the morning doing DH's back mileage and expenses  . I have also washed the kitchen curtains - never seen such brown water in the WM.

Chunky do go and do that plastering course! My DH did his student summers working for his Dads building firm so he is very practical - I hadn't realised quite how much he saves us though. Good to see you back - I did wonder where you had gone.

Someone kick me - I am sat here eating Jaffa Cakes and I dont even like them! I will be putting that stone back on at this rate.

    and hello to the newbies!

Afternoon folks - very quick one from me as ds1 just woke up the baby - will get some me time at some point.

Right, not done very much, as i was shattered after having the boys from 7am-9:30pm solo by myself, and literally one of them awake at all times. I then came out in a horrible rash which was like the welts you get on your skin when you get nettled. I thought it was maybe shingles and pooped myself big time cos i had thoughts of having to cancel the holiday next week, both boys getting chicken pox etc etc. You know the way your mind runs away with you.

Thankfully my rash has disappeared today, so i guess it will be one of those mysteries as i can't think of anything that might have caused it. however, didn't spend any time in the room of doom as i didn't cook till 9:30pm then had to wash up, have a bath and go to bed. So i must do that before 12pm tomorrow when the sofabed is arriving.

Today i have done not much more, my excuse that i am trying to not rely on the telly so much to baby sit DS1 - so i sat playing with him, and ds2 when ds1 was playing solo:
    • washed a load of my PJs
    • watched some of my DVD rental
    • entertained, fed and watered the boys
    • washed up breakie and lunch dishes
    • peeled spuds for dinner, got sausages out of freezer
    • stuck sausages in the oven on low to cook
    • hung washing outside for a flap - it is dark but the online forecast says it will be good till tomorrow morning.
    • checked online banking
    • put recycling outside
    • reminded DH to pull bins out
i'm going to have loads to do at the weekend to get sorted for the hols as we go next Friday am. Hope DH is feeling energetic as i am not.

pigpen well done on shifting that debt

mudbath as your DH got paid £160 more than you thought, why not try moving that amount monthly straight into savings for your roof or whatever. That's how i tend to do it. Like now we are trying to mainly live on DH's wages and put some of my meager mat pay into savings for those 3 months when i won't be paid at all.

sarahshattered sorry to hear your DD is so ill. Doesn't sound pleasant.

holly glad your DS2 was patched up well with the head - DS1 is always banging his and i know i will see blood some time real soon and i hope i keep a cool head when it happens. And then the mouse trap - he was lucky there - that could have badly hurt his tongue.

hello to everyone else, and i might try and get back later so i can write a weekend list. Life is moving a bit too quickly to me so i apologise to anyone i missed out. I wish i had time to be more social.

    Michelle, x
  • Thanks to everyone who's welcomed me today

Less IT problems this afternoon so have actually got through some work - now going to see if I can make some progress on the flying...DH just called to say he is leaving work early so chances of finishing before he gets in have receeded!

Hex2 - give me the jaffa cakes!
Rach - sorry to hear about your week - make sure you get a relaxing weekend
Mudbath - well done on the decision making - I'm rubbish at deciding anything - ever!

I've just made DH sit down and sort finances. He phoned american express and got a charge reversed. We're aiming to pay of interest free credit card and the extension by next Easter. I've also bitten the bullet and cancelled our private health insurance now I know DS doesn't have to have an operation. I was really annoyed as it looked like the direct debit had gone out but I phoned them up and they're sending me a cheque refund. So, thats a scary £125 not going out!!!!! I'm glad i've made the decision!! xx

Hiya - that reminds me I have to cancel our payment protection insurance as I am no longer working.
