My lovely step-mum came over to mind the children while I walked the dog. She is an :A

Don't think I'm going attempt the PC area. It's the paperwork dumping ground, and would take all day. However, the bathroom is done, and gleaming. :j

I'm still feeling sorry for [STRIKE]myself[/STRIKE] my little girl with her shingles!!!

I am using the same excuse this week, I'm still toilet training so of course can't possibly go anywhere (and DS1 stays in his grubby PJs all day)!!
Apart from to the market/boot sale tomorrow. May have to be in nappies for the shopping trip (naughty Mummy)

Pigpen I let my kids play out in their PJs in the rain too, does them good. Proper kids!!

Have now washed up and S&S kitchen for the 2nd time
    Cleaned and tidied the table
    Swept LR floor
Done the 2 saucepan cupboards in the kitchen, sorted and (sort of) cleaned.
DS2 still asleep after 2.5 hours, must wake him up for his lunch soon but am enjoying the break (evil Mummy)
Don't blame him for hiding in bed though, so hot and muggy here just wish it would rain.

SSL really sorry about the job, hope you have some success with the grievance letter.

RMC that's really unfair of your work, how do they expect you to manage? Good luck and I hope you come up with a solution (one that doesn't involve short skirts and street corners!)

ssl, aren't you goint to apply to do HE teaching? Maybe this is the right time then, as you didn't get the job, to go for it!

Yes, although I think I've missed the boat for this year. It would be 3 years, so I had it in my head that I would do it next year and I'd be able to support myself through the sale of my house (which I'm currently renting out)

The job that I applied for was a 9 month temporary posting, so it would have worked out quite nicely.

Anyhoo, letter of complaint submitted. I'll just sit back now and see what happens. Probably nothing...but I wont sit back and be treated like carp.

Right, I might make a start on the kitchen now :)

Sarahshattered - I didnt think children could get shingles. I've obviously got that one wrong? How old is DD? And is it like when adults get it and she is knocked for 6? Poor love xx

It's unusual for children, Only 5%of children will get it!! it's about right for my little girlie! she's 7. GP put her on anti-viral medication, and she's having paracetamol for the pain. She's pretty grumpy though. It is the same as adult shingles, nasty rash on her face and neck. She screamed the place down when I brushed her hair this morning! It's so sensitive around the area. :(
The scary thing is, if it travels up the nerves towards the eye.... don't want to think about that really!

    Hi

I have done nothing today apart from 1 load of washing, washing up and tidied and hoovered the living room.

I had to take Ds2 to casualty last night because he fell off a dining chair into another one and cracked his head open. It was pouring with blood and you could see his skull. Thankfully although deep it was only about an inch long and was glued up really nicely. He screamed for about half hr then was running around the waiting room happily playing with the toys. He seems to have suffered no ill effects and is back to his normal self but he gave me a scare then for a bit.

Then this afternoon he went to the kitchen to get an ice lolly ( even though i have a baby gate to stop him he can open it:rolleyes: ) i was in the living room which is right next to the kitchen. I looked over at him and saw he had a mouse trap in his hand and was about to lick the chocolate spread off it:eek: .( The mouse trap was at the side of the fridge right at the back ). Before i could get to him he'd licked it and set it off. He must have let go as it went off and it snapped back and caught him in the chest. So now he has a nice red mark on his chest. i'm just glad he let go or we'd be looking at broken fingers.

I also have a migrane coming so i doubt i will get much more done today.

I had shingles when I was about 11 or 12, but I can't remember much about it (it was centuries ago) so it couldn't have been that bad. I hope your DD won't be too bad either, Sarah.

I've got the bathroom/toilet done now so that's good enough for today.

    Afternoon all,

back from the park and kids had a good time, took out a rowing boat and 2 boys in a canoe. it is really humid here with spots of rain and it's making us all grumpy.

SS I hope your poor daughter recovers well
SSL sorry about the job, as one door closes another one will open - you'll see
RMC what a nightmare about being overpaid, how irresponsible of the, will you have to pay back any money?

I think I'll do a quick S&S and then try to sort the stuff in DS3 room whilst tea is cooking.
The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair
  • I have been trying to clean the grout on my tiles but even with a toothbrush still stained... any tips?
I miss using my infinite coupons at Tesco!
2010 was the worst year ever :(
But 2011 so far has been a lot of fun! :j
