Hello, all.
Just got back from the weekly shop at Morrisons, and while I was dreading the amount it would come to, it only came to £39.01! So, now I'm going to update my spreadsheet and my sig, and be really happy for a bit!
Continually trying the Grocery Challenge. Gotta keep trying!0 -
Hello,
just a quick post to say I'm on my 2nd NSD
lula x0 -
Evening all,
Not had chance to update siggy yet, but receipts all in my tin and I am doing it in a minute.
Triggles - Thank you for the good wishes - we have no backup funds and pretty much live hand to mouth when wages come in, they're gone again by the next weeks payday so only have another 9 days money left to pay bills  - hence the worry. My work is pretty good at the moment so will help it stretch a bit further so hopefully we can last till the end of August - fingers crossed x x x - He has to sign on tomorrow, although they never help as it takes about 3 weeks to get anything through - hopefully he will have had some agency work before then - oooh, sorry for waffle...
Kaat - Hope OH is feeling better soon - nothing to worry about I hope? :grouphug:
Mouche - what about apple and parsnip soup - mmmm, it's lovely and not fattening - I have 8 servings left in freezer - OOOH, must mention, anyone freezing soup in bags in cups be careful - bag folds end up being inside frozen lump of soup - guess how I found out :rotfl: - just defrost a bit with bag still on inside cup before nuking properly....
Princess Leia - How do you freeze your 'lazy roasts' after you've boiled them??? sounds like an idea to me
Anyway, off to write up receipts then will update my siggy.... take care all

Hi Everyone!!
Had a lovely time in Norfolk and have just spent the last few hours catching up on 15 pages-won't be able to do that next time when I go away or it will take me a whole day! Good to read how well everyone is doing.
Orkneystar-Enjoy your hol!!
Sleepylady-We are here to support you and I am sure there are a few single people doing this challenge who could support you (be your buddy)
Good news - OB only bought a couple of rashers of bacon when I was away so our total won't change much.
I'll adjust sig tomorrow.
Take care

I spent a tenner today on slimming world ,my £forlb challenge and the lottery. I know it's not food but I am counting these as part of my grocery challenge. It's my first month on this challenge so I don;t know if £150 is enough for food for us both and including slimmingworld/lottery but I'm surely gonna try my hardest!!

Has anyone found the amount of rubbish they're throwing out has decreased through doing the GC? Our landfill rubbish is collected fortnightly and I only had one large
pedal bin to throw this week, normally I have about 1 1/2 black plastic bags.
Oh yes - more home baking = less plastic packaging! All the choc bars & cakes before which were individually wrapped and then all 10 bars were also wrapped.....:o Whereas things like flour bags just go in the recycling now:D I'm also buying larger bags of baking items = cheaper AND less packaging - winning all ways:T
For ways to cut down on waste at home check out this site: www.myzerowaste.com - lots of ideas on there (and some comments added to some of the posts by me too:rotfl: :rotfl: )
