Can I join this thread please. I'm gonna go for £150 for the month. There's only me and my daughter aged 9 so it's probably alot but as it's my first month I'll go for that and hopefully go lower next month. I've got to go shopping tomorrow because I've hardly anything in so I might even use most of my budget just tomorrow. I think with what i've got left out of it i'll divide between the next 3 weeks.
I'm gonna write a meal planner then do a list for tomorrows shop and i'm gonna go to aldi/lidl instead of asda or tesco like I normally do.
Good luck everyoneInitial Debt July 2020 - £6,772.80
Debt now Jan 2021 - £6,208.21
Overpayment pot - £00 -
I am hanging my head a little............ shame........ that's what it is.
£244.47 spent in July....
However, Iam going to deduct the overspend off August so that leaves me
£121.85
mmmmmm
I have quite a lot leftover and some of that overspend is going to be used in August............ quite a lot of it actually so I am fairly optimistic.
I have switched from a well-known-brand of spread to a cheaper option and nobody has complained. I have also found a local veg box scheme for £2.50 a week and as most of my food bill seems to be veg I am hoping this will work for me. I mean, if I don't have to keep calling in for veg I won't pick up other stuff will I?....... well, that's the theory.
I love my boy dearly but why oh why can he eat like a horse..... he is always hungry!!!! And remains slim. Not fair this world is it?
Good luck everybody0 -
NSD here for me, although I was very tempted by the chippy on route home from my parents
Hoping for another couple of NSD when it comes to groceries but I'm going to go and finish the uniform shopping tomorrow apart from shoes which I'll get the last week of the holidays, especially as DD has just gone up into a size 1 and she's only 7Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
You know, all this wedding talk is making me wish I was getting married! I guess it's kinda like all the food talk making me want to eat :rotfl:
Welcome to all the new peeps, it's lovely to see so many people on here, and so hard to keep up! Great tips for bread flour and puff pastry in Mr T, thanks for that, will try to get some next time I'm near one.
Have a great weekend everyone xxThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

hi everyone!

Mr T delivered the shopping yesterday evening - £74.00 gone already.
I've set my budget for the month as £300 but still do my shop weekly online (never pay for delivery and always manage to find a money off code). I've found that doing a monthly shop just doesn't work for me as no matter how much food is in the house I feel I should be buying something!
I also tend to work 'back to front' in regard to menu planning. When I shop I see what is on offer and then plan meals around that - works for me so far.
Allotment is providing a load of veggies at the moment :T - only problem is that some so and so keeps pinching them:mad: Can just about live with this if I convince myself that they must really need the veg but.......why do they have to trample over everything in the process
Hoping for a no spend weekend.

OMG, that is so rubbish that someone is stealing your veg! I would be so cross! Maybe put a sign up saying 'if you do have to steal my veg, can your please not trample over the rest of it while you're doing it!'The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000
