Spent £63 at Mr T today, but that included 2 £5 mocs. It only leaves me with £27 to last the month, but it's payday next Friday and we are going away next weekend, so I shouldn't need to buy too much next week. Thanks to all the lovely people on here I have managed to cut my hours down to 2 days a week, allowing me to spend more time with my gorgeous Children. :j0

Back on track I have just made sausage rolls for the first time:T and they are lovely only one problem I didn't wait for them to cool down enough and burnt my tounge. I did add sage & onion (paxo).
turbo5019 - glad your sausage rolls turned out well and you liked the addition of the sage and onion. Hope your tongue is not too sore.:p"WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

Good news though, been a bought a slow cooker today. :j :j Had to jig things on the worktop but am very pleased with it.
Got it from Argos, advertised at £18 something but they were acutally selling it for £13.30. I used some of our nectar points to pay for it. Got £12.50 knocked off so paid 80p for it :rotfl: :rotfl:
Am hoping that this will save abit on the electric and time in the long run. So dinner can be cooking while we are both out at work.
Going to scour the slow cooker recipes soon:D
This sounds like a good buy, have been wondering about buying one myself, did fancy a Remoska but can't afford. Years ago we had a crock slow cooker but never did any good with it, gave up and OH sold it at a car boot. Now i'm into labour / electric saving devices. I know you can do stews in them but can you do much else?, don't want to get one that ends up sitting in a cupboard again.0 -

Kaatlady, thinking of you and Archie (((hugs)))
I haven't posted here for a few days but updated my sig on Monday... I went to a bigger Mr A in the morning but couldn't find stuff and was rather uninspired, so I set myself a limit of £10 for the evening and went to Mr M. I went a bit over and spent £11.58 but I did get some whoopsies.
I haven't been able to concentrate on meal planning much so I'm not doing terrifically well with the budget, but tonight I did a chilli with only half the mince I normally would use and bulked it out with some dried veg, cheap frozen passata and about a cup of porridge oats. It went down really well with OH but the others that were here haven't bothered to have any so I'm a bit peeved. I'll sling it in the freezer along with the mashed potato.
I'll just update sig with the milk I had to get this morning then that's me done."...And if it don't feel good, what are you doing it for?" - Robbie Williams - 'Candy'0 -

OH has been complaining that his bread (HM) goes off quite quickly, and I've just noticed that the inside of our wooden breadbin is looking a bit green and mouldy - yuk! Would cleaning it out get be enough to rid of the icky-ness? Or should I bin it and replace it?
Archie is a very handsome boy Ann. And he's very lucky to have a human who cares as much about him as you obviously do. My thoughts are with you.You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0 -
