    CONGRATULATIONS ANGCHRIS :j ...

Just popped in to up date signature again.
Went to shops yesterday with OH and spent just under £40, this takes our total to just over £130:eek:

Good news though, been a bought a slow cooker today. :j :j Had to jig things on the worktop but am very pleased with it.
Got it from Argos, advertised at £18 something but they were acutally selling it for £13.30. I used some of our nectar points to pay for it. Got £12.50 knocked off so paid 80p for it :rotfl: :rotfl:
Am hoping that this will save abit on the electric and time in the long run. So dinner can be cooking while we are both out at work.
Going to scour the slow cooker recipes soon:D

I received £50 M+S vouchers from Sky's refer a friend scheme...My next quetion will be do I spend them on overly priced food next week and save paying for shopping or do I save them for xmas pressies?

Hi I received some too for referring my sister(and she received £50 of them as well!!) I decided to use them to buy pressies I bought talc, shower gel, body lotion, handwash etc all at £1 each Put 5 in a basket wrap nicely and heh presto sister-in-law and mother-in-law sorted:rotfl: . By the way have never bought pressies this early before for Now got £40 left! If you are having a celebration M&S fruit cake/weddingcake is delicious.
Spent £25  on 2 pairs of trainers for DD's from sportsworld today for school (begrudge paying that much for them to sit at school in pe bag for use once a week - sometimes manage to get the in sale from Woolworths £5 but hadn't got their sizes!) Luckily different budget. Although spent £5  on dinner for the 4 of us, wasn't going to get home in time for dinner and I had a loaf in breadmaker waiting when i finally got home at 3pm
Thanks to MSE savings we got to go to Disneyworld Florida.

  • Anyone know if there is an own brand 'All Bran' anywhere? Havent seen one anywhere:confused:

Sorry if this has been answered already but haven't got time to read all the posts atm.

Morrisons do a fab copy but my store often fails to stock it. Recently I've found another version in Aldi, 99p for a massive box. Both are really good substitutes. HTH :)

Congratulations angchris. And to Chell too - what a beautiful name you’ve chosen. Happy anniversary Denise

I'm very, very, very excited - OH has bought me a patio-gro thingy for my birthday!!! :j I'm not supposed to have seen it tho as he had asked for it to be delivered to his work and they sent it to our home address instead, so hes a bit P'd off about that. But there's no way he'd have been able to hide it tho as it is too big, so I'd have seen it anyway.

Will have a trip to the garden centre this weekend to see if they have any reduced seeds, so I can start to plan what to grow next year :D

I have only £4.91 of my budget left and 10 days to go  Should be do-able though as I don't need anything for the rest of this week and only need a bit of veg next week. But I am wondering whether to add on £50 and run my month to 31st, then carry on doing calendar months - at the moment I'm starting my month on 24th as that's when I get paid. I think calendar months might make more sense in my head, but I'm not sure:confused: How does everyone else decide when their months start?

A little off topic, but one of my cats is officially evil. The little sod wolfed down a bowl of food earlier then started retching - then shuffled sideways a few inches and threw up in our other cat's bowl!!!!! Told OH when he got in and he thinks it's hilarious, he's still laughing about it now  (sorry if that was TMI for anyone :o but I am appalled at the little horror!)

    Hi all

Sorry - but really can't remember if I've posted any totals this month - and am soooooooooooo tired I can't read through all the posts (will try and catch up at the weekend!)

Anyway - so far this month I've spent £90.61 - still under budget but think I need to be a bit more careful. Mind you - son is away next week so that should save me quite a bit!!!!

Spent £98 something tonight but this is my first shop this month and I got loads of pull ups as they were massively reduced so that bunked the price up. I have enough meals for the rest of August so I may just have to do a top up shop of milk and fruit. This is great as I am well under budget so should be able to use left over money this month for bairns school uniform.

Just can't get over the price of frozen peas though - £1.85 for the nice ones we used to get - the value ones were even 98p a bag. Haven't bought peas in so long cos I had a stock pile in freezer. Dear me - I was shocked!

SmileyS My sister beat me to it although she wouldn't have thought of buying presents if I hadn't told her:rotfl: . But if not like she says the cakes are delicious I had them as my wedding and my DD christning.
Well if I don't know what to get my sister for xmas I'll give her a voucher.

Back on track I have just made sausage rolls for the first time:T and they are lovely only one problem I didn't wait for them to cool down enough and burnt my tounge. I did add sage & onion (paxo).
