Hi all,
Well, I stuck to my list, apart from a couple of things that I forgot to put on but knew I needed (toilet rolls for instance - we only had 1 left, lucky I remembered those!!! )
Anyway, went with mysupermarket list and prices in hand, Icelands are not too big in our town but got:
2 x Kingsmill bread for £1.50 for 2 (my BM has gone a bit up the wall at the moment so needed to get some in),
Large 3ltr Vegetable oil for £2.75 (£3.49 in Mr T)
1 kg Beef Mince for £2 - (Mr T's £4.75 for 1.75kg - works out £2.71 per kilo)
9 rolls + 3 free (12) Kleenex velvet for £3.75 (MrT's own £4.69 for 12)
2 x Smoked Gammon rounds for £1 (Tesco £1.49)
was going to get chicken breasts for £3, but got 1.5kg (5-6 very large breasts) for £5 instead (weren't on list so not sure Mr T's price)
Also got a few things cheaper in MrA's so was well worth sorting it all out before I left home, will definitely be doing that again :T :T
Hope everyone's having a good day, take care,

Hello and best wishes to everyone. Hope you're all enjoying the weather. Been away since 19th July and although I have tried to read july pages posted since then- have admitted defeat and come straight to august now.
Welcome back Mrs Mc! and thanks to angelnikki who has been a superstar:T leading us in Mrs Mc's absence.
I'm declaring £125 for July.
July was a unusual month as I was away for a weekend camp, a five day camp and and a seven day camp, all of my food was paid for and there was little opportunity to spend money so part of me thinks I should have been able to spend even less. However OH was at home so had to have food in FF for him.
We're both at home during August, school hols for me and OH signed off sick from work due to injury at work - apart from a week on holiday in Spain for us both so I'm going to set an acheivable target of £150 for August.
By the way- good news- OH got the job he had interview for- yippee!! :j :j :j :beer:2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013

Aww...ain't it grand to see some Good News on the thread:p We've a bubby, new jobs & surprise holidays to counteract the less positive side of Life--Well Done Yooze lot, to to those with little to celebrate just now, our turn will come:o
I've been conducting my own little challenge, of using stuff I've already got in where at all possible....hence my discovery that I LIKE Weetabix Honey & Nut Minis:D The offspring snaffle the chocolate ones & these got left in the cupboard cuz of only one pack of choccie ones left on the shelf when the unmissable deal was for two packs.
Another NSD for me, but the offspring have clubbed together & bought a proper grown-up BBQ in the sales & have invited most of the neighbourhood:mad: but as they're payingcan I say?
Hope you've had a wonderful day Orkney & Very Best Wishes for the coming months.xFull time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Just a quick post to show my first August spend is still £55 so a good start for my frugal month.
Just had warmed up whoopsied roast pork slices in gravy for dinner the kids loved it except the tinned marrofat peas though. Couldnt be bothered to even do frozen veg today! Can you believe kids that want to eat brocolli and green beans rather than peas?!:j0 -
Hi again, I've had a look at things and I'm going to do it slightly differently this month, only counting in food for OH amd myself (toiletries and cat food etc separate) so I can see how much we're really eating! So can I please be put down for £100 for 5 weeks, from 26th July to end Aug., many thanks to whoever is doing the Challenge now.The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Hi, Can I join in this month please?
I'm hoping to come in at £200 this month, I've noticed that my grocery bills are creeping up again:mad:
I get paid tomorrow but have enough stuff in that I won't need to shop until weekend, I'm pretty well stocked up on toiletries and should only need basic household stuff - soap powder, loo rolls etc.

Well today was not an NSD afterall, spent £1.22 (39p on a drink and 83p on washing soda). Not too bad though.
Birthday was not great- spent the day waiting for the post with my parcels but no post came (think its due to the horrible mist here!). Still FIL gave me a new bag (he lives up the road from here) so thats something and DH still wants to get me something or take me out maybe tomorrow.
Edited to say : Anyone know how to make Tacos ? (the bought ones are expensive) taErmutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

OOOOh I'm sooooo excited!!!! Have just purchased a breadmaker, first loaf in as we speak, OH has looked on with mild interest but I don't quite think the word excited came into it! so needed to come on here!, I think a medium loaf will be no more than 50p or less (ha that's if they work out!) I'm almost completely OS now - oh apart from regularly failing miserably on the grocery challenge LOL, well can't have it all I suppose. Made tortillas for tea last night and they were spot on gorgeous, might have to make more next time as they were all wolfed down - far nicer than bought ones and cost nothing to make as always have oil and plain flour in. Anyway good luck everyone for August (my goodness me I need it) Welcome back MRSMAC and thanks Angelnikki as always.LBM 17th April 2007:j
