Morning guys - i am off to solicitors in a mo - i still cant get my head around the fact that 8 weeks ago i thought i had a normal marriage - now am alone with my kids with oh in a flat with girlfriend - cant stop shaking - been to relate again and she says that with my depression as well and my eldest going off to uni at other end of country in 3 weeks i am just suffering loss after loss after loss (our dog died the week before oh walked out) - i keep telling myself to be strong but the shaking and feeling of panic seems to be getting worse not better - any ideas?

Focusing on the positive in your life and taking teeny tiny baby steps is the way to go.

You still have your children - no matter where in the country they may be. And it is testement to your great parenting skills that you have raised them to be successful independant people. Your job is done and what a good job you have done.

You are better off without husband - anyone who can treat you like this is better off out of your life than being in it.

Surround yourself with feel good things and feel good people - the more you do this (and however hard it can be to get yourself to do things). The more you will be able to find a focus. At the moment your focus is on the whole big picture - sometimes you have to deal with life in smaller chunks.

Have you spoken to your local MIND or other mental health charity. Relate might be one type of support but if you have other issues then you cant have too much support.

    Good luck

    Hi Kassy,
Sorry to hear you're having such a bad time today.
You may not want to but would you perhaps consider getting another dog? Animals are great at times like these 'cos you can tell them anything and they'll understand - and you can hug them unconditionally!
It's also been proven they do wonders for your stress levels! Maybe having a new pup or young dog or even a cat would give you something else to focus on and look after?
I hope you feel better as the day goes on. (())

I absolutely 100% second this, animals have amazing healing powers and as June says, would give you something to focus on/take your mind off other things and puppies/kittens are such fun (maybe you could get a little rescue dog/cat so it wouldn't cost anything except for a donation to the charity)
Money doesn't make you happy so I'm skint but cheerful
  • Stop and think first though as I know how sad it is to lose a dog as had one for 14 yrs and loved it to bits.
Though went out and got another puppy and have cross Bermese Mountain dog already and now due to all hassles going through with life they are a tie,I love my dogs big time though remember if you need to get away etc etc with people to watch them.
Not trying to put you off but now I wish I didnt jump and get other,I tried to replace my dog who died but did not work
