I bought some reduced whipping cream the other week and whipped it and put it in portions in the freezer. I took a couple out to use in cooking and they virtually disappeared!!!! What am I doing wrong?
And from the above posts, is it worth me taking them out of the freezer, sticking them in the FP and trying to make butter? I have about 2 tubs worth.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

I have never tried using whipping cream before, I think its a mix of single and double so might not work, but you could just try a little and put it in a sterile jar or plastic tub and shake it about a bit (this is how I taught the kids to make butter when they were wee) for a few minutes and see if it turns into butter. Making my own butter should also help. Jamie oliver made it the other day on 30 min meals, so you may find a clip online if you look

Hi folks
Whipped up too much cream yesterday to have with some lovely scones that my mum had made, all the scones have gonebut still got quite a bit of cream left. Now I could be cheeky and ask her to make some more, or I could even make some myself, but just wondered if how long the cream would last for, and if it could be frozen.
TIA x0 -
I would say a day or so in the fridge, or you can freeze whipped cream but it can go a bit watery and grainy when you defrost it. It'd be fine though if you just wanted a bit of cream for cooking or soups.0

Could you flavour it with anything for a little mousse like pudding. A few whizzed up strawberries or raspberries mixed in would be nice. Would a little melted chocolate work?0

Thanks for your suggestions, will probably eat it with some left over strawberries today and a few crushed merangue nests. Was trying to jump back on the diet wagon today after yesterday's indulgences, but I'm sure it will be along again tomorrow!0

Depending on how fresh the cream was when you whipped it, it should last a little while in the fridge. Be sure to cover it though as it gets a wierd 'crust' on it.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0
