I've got a pot of (unwhipped) whipping cream in the freezer. If I use this to make bread and butter pudding (with the frozen brioche I've also got!) then will it go all horrible and separated or will it work fine?
  • Hi All

Got a few pots of the flavoured creams (Baileys / Brandy etc) from Mr T which would be better in the freezer as we won't get through it....

It does say "do not freeze" but still wonder if whipped will it be OK?
What should I put in here that won't upset people.........

I bought a tub of clotted cream today with a use by date of the 16 Jan. I had people round for dinner but the clotted cream didn't get used. So as today is probably my last day of eating rubbish, I'm wondering whether I can freeze the clotted cream because otherwise, I'll have one scoop... then won't want any more and it will be wasted so I thought perhaps about chucking in the freezer for a rainy day ?

If I can freeze it, when I come to use it, I presume I defrost it ? guess it would need 8 - 12 hours in the fridge and how quickly would I need to use up ??

    thanks in advance

Bumpity bump!!!!! I got a tub on a whoopsie for 10p, and I can't eat it all in one day. Can I freeze maybe ice cube of it? I did use some of it to make a creamy sauce yesterday to go with gratin potatoes and salmon. Yum. Must get it in the freezer today or use it to make something. mIt's tempting me!!!!

Yes you can freeze it no problem. I would use it up pretty quick after defrosting though. Yum Yum!

Thank you. Off to stick it in an ice cube tray now. Then I won't be tempted to use too much at a time.

I would think it would be better in a lidded container. I'm not so sure about freezing it in small quantities in that way. Maybe others with more experience can advise further.

OK just been goggling as you have sparked my interest. I can't find anything conclusive. Some say you can't freeze it at all. I have done so though and it was fine. It appears to be a common thing to freeze single cream in ice cube trays but I can find no mention of anyone doing so for clotted cream. I would have thought it would dry out. I would conclude that you can freeze it but to eat at it's peak eat it fresh. So maybe just make one of these with it and invite a neighbour in for tea!
