I have contacted BZZ Agent and forwarded them a copy of the email sent to me by Philips. I have also sent Philips the following reply:
I have to say, I am rather surprised and disappointed at the response I have received to my enquiry.
The point of the BZZ Agent campaign I am enrolled in(commissioned by Philips), is to spread positive word of mouth about the Philips Generator range of irons an thus encourage others to purchase. I have been doing this to great effect to, extolling the virtues of Philips Generator Irons to everyone I have had chance to.
However, your inability in my to replace a faulty part on my iron has left me feeling less than confident about recommending this product to friends and family.
I would not wish anyone I had recommended to find after investing £100 in an iron, that should something go wrong, the level of customer service may not meet their expectations.
I grant that you may appreciate this opportunity to reconsider your initial response to my enquiry.
Regards

Mine was left with a chap across the road from me! I've never ever met him before he turned up with my box:rolleyes: !!!! I do wish that they would leave items with a neighbour or at least a card rather than some random bloke across the road though! At least I guess they are promoting neighbourhood spirit or something!!! LOL!0 -
Well there is definitely something wrong with my iron!!
Only the lower half of the soleplate has steam coming out of it, it doesn't take the creases out of ANY clothes and water leaks like mad from the base (the water tank) ... so much so, I thought the whole thing might blow up!! I moved it and omg, there were puddles of water underneath it.
I phoned Philips and all I can say is bless them - and yes, I am being sarcastic!
The lady didn't seem to know anything about us doing this trial and said over and over that it would be difficult because I didn't have a receipt from when I purchased it ... I kept telling her that it was a product I was trialling from Bzz, but she kept throwing it back at me re not having a dated receipt.
Eventually she said I could send it to an address in Coventry for them to try repairing it ... anyway, I have contacted Bzz and they said they would pass it along to their Support Department and get back to me with help via email. Haven't heard anything as of yet but I hope they can sort something out.
Am not a happy bunny ...
Oh, and the lady at Philips asked me if I had dropped the iron on the floor ... shoulda told her I had been drop kicking it over the house .... gggrrr ... what a ridiculous thing to ask!! Told her if I had, then it would have been my fault and I would have said I had .... gggrrrr!!!
If you take it to Argos you don't need a receipt or box - they will just exchange it for you as a faulty product (I did this with a steamer). I know its not the thing to really do but it will end up going back to Philips anyway so Argos won't lose out - they will probably gain a handling fee anyway!0 -

Just a thought don't know if it will work though. Could you not show them a copy of your statement from the card that you paid with, that,s proof you paid for it. It's not your fault they only charged £20, also that way they know we were charged for them as well.
As I say don't know if this will be any good but worth trying. Thanks for any help and advice given

After contacting BZZ Agent about the lack of assistance I had from Philips, Bzz Agent sent me this response:
Thanks for your email. We certainly understand your issue, and we are sorry that this part has developed a small crack. We are also sorry to hear that Philips was unable to provide you with a replacement part for your iron.
However, as we are not really a retailer and just had these products as a part of this BzzCampaign, we were only provided enough irons so that we could send each agent who signed up for the campaign one iron to try out for this campaign. Because of this we do not have any extra irons or replacement parts in our warehouse. We are sorry for this inconvenience.
However, if you are disappointed by the lack of assistance that Philips was able to provide for the problems you experienced with your iron you should certainly include this in your BzzReports.
Our philosophy here at the Hive is that all Bzz is good Bzz! Doesn't matter if it's positive or negative, we want to hear it all! So if you were not happy that Philips was unable to help you with this issue, let people know!
Thanks,
Jake

Thanks for the advice re taking the iron to Argos ... I haven't heard back from Bzz yet after that reply earlier today saying they would email me back with help after passing it on to the Support Panel .. if I don't get anywhere, then I may be very tempted to be naughty and try Argos.
Well, I know it was only £20, but still, when you pay anything for an item, you expect to get an item you can use! I can't even use mine because of the water leakage and it not steaming up or being powerful enough on "normal" to remove creases so it is definitely faulty.0 -
