Can I be a complete idiot and ask an idiot question ?

I mentioned this to my partner last night ( I need to leave aol ) and he said 'who is the ISP'. He seems to think you still use your existing ISP and this is an 'enhancement'. I thought '3' were the new ISP - that I could dump aol and just transfer to this instead?

Also if it's the latter ( I'm right & he's wrong ) I assume it's unlimited time use ie I know it's got a download limit, but currently I can't use aol between 7.30pm to 9.30pm - am I right thinking there aren't time limits here?

See, I told you I had idiot questions

Luckily you can switch to smug mode and tell him that you are right and he is wrong!

Three will be the new ISP and as far as I'm aware there are no limits as to when you can use it!
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

Hello, I understand how this would work with a pc and a laptop but could it be used with a suitable mobile phone or blackberry ??? Thanks

Not sure if it answers your question but AFAIK Three have a £5 month add-on for unlimited internet on your mobile. Fair use etc but I've not had any problems. Think most networks offer this service.
Think this is more convenient as you just need the phone - ie no extra cables or gadgets.

The modem for the laptop is essentially a stripped down mobile phone if you like. It's a box with a sim card and usb connectors.

If you're daring and willing to void the warranty you could always crack the dongle open to get at the SIM card inside :P

This goes completely against any provider's T&C I'm quite sure. I wouldn't do it, except to satisfy my curiosity (I work with electronics)

You don't need to crack anything open to get to the SIM. You open the cover designed for that purpose.

so, you put it in your phone, then...someone fancy having a go!!!???

Why? You'd have to pay for any calls you make as they are not included.
It is a normal sim card so would probably work - haven't tried it though. You can send text messages from your computer but these are chargable.
