  • This is still listed on Quidco:
£12.50for 50% off Mobile Broadband Plus Tariff 5GB (18 month)*

Does it still work however, just click the link at the bottom of the page and that's it? And if Three don't give me the offer call them up with my Web Order Number and complain?

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Name Dropper I've been Money Tipped!
Anyone know what the story is cost wise if you go over the 5mb?
  • I've had 3 mobile since jan, binned my landline & broadband in feb. In truth, I find it no worse than my previous (homecall / pipex) land BB, yes, it does go down, but so did pipex!, and friends experience of virgin / ntl is far, far worse!))
I work away a lot & take laptop with me, no problems in the vast majority of places, though signal is pretty cack in ipswich!.

Purchased the fiver a month 1GB tariff for 18 months in June. Gave it to my mum as part of her birthday present.

I signed up to My3 and I can see she is using less than 5% of her allowance which makes me glad I didn't pay out more. She uses it everyday but only for surfing the internet, nothing else. She sends lots of emails on gmail.com too.

Regarding performance, I did try playing counter strike source using a similar thing on t-mobile and I was achieving 200ms ping. It was playable but as a closet gamer it wouldn't suffice as an everyday thing.

I wouldn't go as far as saying as it's just for people who are on the go, its a viable alternative to fixed line. However if you download a lot, or play games online I would seek adsl or cable.

It is also a lottery how good the reception is in your area. My mum is in Devon and she gets above average signal and isn't having a problem. I would always check to see the what the strength is on their signal checkers (on their website). If you are still a bit unsure I would a) take the risk and don't get your hopes up it is going to work and remember you have 3 days to return the product after using it or b) forget about it immediately and get a fixed line deal, plenty about.
  • Is that fiver a month deal with the 50% off that's still at Quidco?

it was a june only offer, then 3 changed their tariffs completely. Dunno if they got another deal on now or not.
  • Thanks. I'm just desperate to get a good deal on Three Mobile Broadband and it appears I've missed all the offers.
  • Well I signed up to this offer using Quidco.

Got my first bill yesterday and it was for the full whopping £15.00 instead of the £7.50.

Have a feeling I'm going to be spending half the day on the phone as a result.

If you signed up to this offer keep your eye out for your bill. If I have any joy with my complaint I will post what you need to do to get it sorted out.
  • Bit of an update - albeit a mini-update.

Spoke to billing who told me to call web shop helpline who I spoke to who told me I need to speak to billing - who she transferred me to - who then almost immediately gave me the number for the web shop helpline. I pointed out they had just put me through to her. After her then saying the offer was only for 15gb broadband (load of rubbish obviously) I mentioned I had Martin's e-mail with the details of the offer in it.

She then told me to fax it over to her. I don't have a fax. She was insistent that I fax it. I said I couldn't and she eventually gave me an address to send it to.

I then hung up and tried to rephone the Web Sales team again. It took a while to be able to as billing hadn't hung up their phone and was insisting that I needed to! *grrrr*

Eventually got through to Web Sales again and started with "I've spoken to about 5 people about this and I'm now getting fed up". Explained the situation and neither her nor her colleagues had heard of Quidco so I had to explain that too.

She is now going to speak to her manager and call me back either today or tomorrow morning.

I will update when she calls back

I hope any of you that get billed incorrectly appreciate what I am going through for all of you :D
  • That's what I was worried about. The fact that you don't know if you've got your 50% off when you buy it in their webshop. Plus the fact that they can just cancel third-party offers and declare it's not their responsibility.
