Hi Red, I don't really have much advice but just wanted to say being single isn't so bad at least the flat is all yours and you can do whatever you want to it! Maybe you could tell your parentsf or boyfriend you're in debt? You don't need to go into all the gory details but maybe if you knew that they knew it would help you feel a little better? A problem shared is a problem halved and all that! If my parents knew the extent of my debt they would be so disappointed so I've never discussed figures etc with them but they know I'm always skint so they don't comment on things like they used too (like why I hardly ever go out at the weekend like 'normal' 20-somethings!!)

Keep your chin up I'm sure someone will have some advice for you soon

    Hi Guys!

Just wanted to say thanks for bothering to read my post. I'm not really expecting any advice per se as I know what I have to do to clear the debt - just wanted to have a moan really! I absolutely cannot tell my family I'm in debt - it would disappoint them so much! But they know I'm always skint and chuck me a tenner from time to time. Just feels so rubbish still taking handouts from my parents when I'm 30 this year! Having my own place has its benefits, I'll admit, but at the moment I have negative equity which only adds to my worries! Not to mention the fact that I can't actually afford to do anything to it! Life is a bit pants at the moment really. Oh well!

Anyhoo.....to those of you that were discussing internet dating - I have used several sites over the years and have met lots of lovely people but not one that I felt I could have a romantic relationship with. I usually find though that you can tell by the way someone e-mails if they're gonna be a weirdo though - just use gut instinct. I know several couples who met their spouses through internet dating so it does work for some people! In the end I ended up going out with someone that I'd known for years, but if that hadn't happened then I'm sure I'd still be caning the internet dating as I never seem to meet nice, single guys in the real world. And remember - you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you meet your prince!

  • Hi all - I'm wide awake and in a bit of a crap one. Was at the local hospital tonight with hyperventilating in my pyjamas!!! Now the whole of the A & E section know I wear kitten pyjamas.

Chances of finding myself a sexy doc in that outfit?! Zilch!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

  • Hello everyone :hello:

Okay, first of all I need to apologise for being rubbish and not posting on here for blummin ages. I haven't been taking my laptop home because my RSI means it hurts to work anywhere other than at my office desk. Work's also been MAD busy so it's only today when a lot of folk are out that I've got 5 minutes to drop you a quick update on what the heck's been going on and where the heck I've been for the last couple of weeks...

So... briefly.... things with Complicated Man are going fantastically!! We've had a weekend away together; I've met his parents (went well); he's told his daughter about us (she's delighted - says she loves me and thinks I'm loads of fun :p ); his soon-to-be-ex-wife's really happy for us; he's coming up north with me this weekend to meet one of my many brothers; and..... we've secured a tenancy on a flat and we're moving in together at the end of March!!

All this and it's only 3 weeks ago that I was working from home getting all nervous about our first date!!! I can't believe how quickly things have moved on, but it feels right and life's too short, eh? Okay, so I've never lived with a b/f before, but really, how difficult can it be?!!

I will try to post more frequently in future (work madness is calming down a little bit). Again, I'm so sorry I've been off radar for ages, but life will get back on an even keel soon enough I'm sure.

Doh, my pooter's about to freeze up to force me to take a break - aarrgghhh! Hope you're all well. Again, I'm sorry for being carp.

    Hey Susu!

Fantastic news and I am so chuffed things are going well and all the various people in your lives are happy as well as it makes it all so much easier! Btw 'many brothers' gosh how many do you have!!! Lula is right, get that housework rota on the go for the new place!! (and keep the bed away from the wall if its a flat ;))

SC spoke with his mum yesterday and heard me washing dishes in background, she laughed so hard when he said he was just about to dry up ..she now thinks I am even more wonderful then she imagined because I am making him pull his weight in house, I'm already taking credit for him losing nearly 3 stone and being happier etc, I think my brownie points must be pretty much in + side for when I meet her this year:rotfl:

Wow !! That was fast. Sometimes it can better that way.

How difficult can it be living with a b/f you ask?
Excuse me a minute while I wipe the coffee off the monitor LOL.
It's OK. I wasn't laughing at you Susu. I was just laughing at my own previous attempts at living with people - which have nothing to do with what you are both embarking on.
It's so lovely to know that someone is happy and getting on with their life. I know plenty of people who are in long term, successful relationships that looked rather whirlwindish to me. Yet I knew someone for years before I lived with her and it failed miserably. So how long people have known each other before co-habitating maybe isn't the big issue that it is often made out to be.

Just make sure you've got a strong bed ;)
