Well, technically I suppose Converse are sports shoes, but my boots have never seen any sporting activity!! They're just really cool and look great the older they get (seems to be a common trend in my clothing choices!) High tops are better than low tops (I have black low tops as well - my pal gave them to me for free! Brand new and everything!) - it's a sock thing...
Okay... the question is: what doesn't brown go with? I think brown's more versatile than black and it looks warmer. As for jeans, go for a fit that's comfortable (don't be a fashion victim). You can't go wrong with, you know, normal, slightly worn-looking denim, either in blue or black (not the brand new, purply-blue denim or very very black)
Cords are good as well. Chocolate brown cords - but not with brown boots - too much of a good thing.
Just look at people when you're out & about - get ideas from them, see what you do/don't like and remember only to buy something you'll be able to wear with 4/5 other things in your wardrobe.
My wardrobe's made up of:
Black
Brown
Grey
White
Beige/cream
Red
Turquoise
All these colours can be mixed/matched. Voila!
Hope this helps
Blimey. This clothes thing is really complicated. It's obvious I never had any idea what I was doing before.
New year resolution:
Get some new brown boots.
Get a colour chart from B&Q
Get mixing and matching!
Merci beaucoup!

Slight amendment to this. See something you love and buy it. Then buy 4/5 things to go with it.
I do that with socks. I buy one pair and then another 4 pairs exactly the same! Is this right? Is this sane?

Makes sense to me. I do the same with bras. As soon as I find one that fits I buy two, then my boobs change shapePresume this doesn't happen with your feet though...
