  • If I am short of time and the peppers are going to go off I bung mine in the freezer whole. I actually find it easier to de-seed and slice when they are partially thawed! I also agree with all the other posters that they are not good for salad after freezing but excellent for cooking with.

as above, have pack of 3 and am working all weekend so wont be able to use them up.thanks for any advice.
  • Hi Gem

Yes you definately can. I always do due to the glut of home grown I end up with! My method is to cut into slices and freeze on a flat tray. Once frozen I just gather them all together in any handy container. I freeze them seperately at first so they don't all freeze together in lumps which makes them easier to use.

They won't be any good for eating fresh, but throw them into anything you are cooking and they are fine.

I do this if I'm going away so they don't go to waste- and yes I learnt that here!

  • I buy them in packs of 3 colours in Aldi and mix a bit of each in each freezer bag. I do the same with some of the special offer peppers in Asda. I like the colourful mix. Great for adding to stir fries or casseroles straight from the freezer. I freeze mine as soon as I buy them.
  • yes I too freeze them and find it great for use in casseroles, stews, soups or even ommelettes,no good if you want to use them in salads though as they aen't so crisp.

When my home-grown ones are all gone I often buy frozen peppers. I think, like many vegetables, the frozen ones can be better value and all prepped ready so no waste.
