It's so hot here and humid, have been for a run and now trying to cool down before I get in the shower.

To all people who finish work today, hope you have a lovely summer hols. Am so excited DS finishes infants school today.

Had a lovely lunch with Mum and Dad, also collected the PS2 that my nephew has given DS along with loads of games. Ds was really chuffed. Also found a lovely coat for him in Asda for £6 the other day, so that's most of his school uniform got now, apart from shoes.

I too am looking for a new job at the mo, either in or out of nursing. Not quite sure what but something will come up. I just want something with regular hours, so I'm at home when DS and OH are and we can have a proper family life. Not much around at the moment but I can wait.

Off to get breakfast, am starving.

Dogrose - how was your holiday? I'm off tomorrow for 2 weeks so WM is on and I have a line in the garden now (as of yesterday) so fresh, line-dried linen! Don't (won't!) have a tumbly, so before this it was rack dried by an open window which just isn't the same.

Other plans for today - tidy house up ready for going away and sort a bit more filing now I have my shelves in the study.

No sun here at the moment but its very muggy. DS's last day today so am taking teacher presents in, also have to pick up 2 raffle prizes as received a phone call last night to say we had won - will be interesting to see what they are.

Office work probably all day today though I must make time to do some ironing as I didnt get anydone yesterday and the pile is growing. Also need to work out somethings to do over the next 2 weeks as the money is very tight. OH has his operation tomorrow and dont know how he will be over the next few days and also dont know what the weather will be. Needs to be nice as want some free days out at the beach.

Doing well with the menu plan this week, need to get some pork chops out of the freezer for tonight -having them in a barbeque casserole with rice tonight.

off to work in a mo but feeling fed up today. it just seems like I am the only one trying to be frugal and the others are doing whatever they want:mad:
for example I bought 3 litres of OJ on saturday and by monday its all gone! cos they drink it like pop even though I tell them only to have 1 glass a day.
it will be worse over the hols too as i am working throughout (i have 1 week off) and DH is a teacher so he and the kids are mooching round either eating or going out and spending money Aahhh:mad:

was roasting hot last night, kids hardly slept, lo woke at 4.30:mad: and im shattered, cant open the windows at night as dont want the bats coming in

so was like an oven!

Hester, don't put yourself down, whilst i'm sure you could find something else, if your job is secure, that's worth an awful lot, especially when OH struggles for work.
Sistercas, I know what you mean about the locusts, I now buy squash. amazing how long that lasts...or the value OJ.
Ruby, your poor sis and I would think her OH feelsdreadful too.
Mioliere...any chance of a piccie of the favours I am tempted to offer them for my friends wedding (am I mad?)

Good morning everyone :beer: First day of the holidays, and I'm loving it already :j :T I've told the young Penguins that I don't expect to see the before 10am :rolleyes: They're exhausted, and could really do with the sleep.

I have the wahing to hang out, a pile of ironing to do, and the kitchen to tidy. Once the children are up, they need to sort their rooms, and empty their school and PE bags.

The garden is heaving with produce, so I'll be weeding and watering down there later.

Working till 2pm then off to Morrisons, and to pick my tickets up for Mamma Mia, then round to see Dad who's increasingly weak and tired, sleeping a lot of the day now:(:(
