What a nasty comment. YOU ARE the prat.

Natweststaffmember can only offer advice and info and does a good job on here so back off muppet.

I have had a massive arguement with the Natwest about bank charge reclaim since 2006 but accepted to wait til test cases sorted. I have recently explained from advice on here about my Financial Situation to the Natwest and finally got an agrrement that YES I am in and accepted as a hardship case. It is the not the staff bank members fault its the higher archy who are the problem.

Anyway in reply to Natweststaffmember post earlier the bank have wrote to me and as for my case should be sorted in less than 21days.
I received a letter today and am keeping it as proof of their agreement. Thanks and keep up the advice.

    Hi,

I have a claim on hold from July 2007, but now we are really struggling and should qualify for financial hardship. Could anyone answer a couple of questions.
Do I need to ring the banks to explain or write a letter?
Do I carry on the claim for the original amount or add on the extra charges since my original claim, any advice on where to start would be appreciated. I'm in a rut and not sure where to start.
i have tried reading through the threads but getting very confused.
I still have copies of all the letters etc...
    Please help:o:confused:

I would write a letter and explain your situation with a schedule of charges including the ones from July 2007 and going up to today.
At the moment most banks are paying out where there are priority debt arrears(mortgage/rent, council tax, utilities).
Send them a new letter recorded delivery and they should respond to you.

  • Hi ladies and gents,

I'm sure you've read stories like this over and over but i'm really at my wits end and would appreciate any help.

I applied to reclaim my bank charges in march 08 and unfortunately the court cases had already begun. Me and my partner have stumbled on hard times and are now struggling to make ends meet. We decided to get a joint account to make sure all our money goes in one pot and then we'd know whats going out and whats coming in. Unfortunately i had a loan with natwest in 2006 but always made sure the payments were in and on time even though i had to extend my overdraft a couple of times to do so (pat on the back for me). But when we got the new joint account (with a different bank) they told me i cant transfer the direct debit to my new account under terms of agreement with my loan (understandable). But now my artners got the same problem with her loan. and everytime i make a payment to the loan account, they take my overdraft charges first and then my loan payments is shorted so i incur another charge for that and its grown and grown and grown and now i cant get myself back in the plus so that my loan payments are made. and now i'm getting threatening letters from the bank and phonecalls every 5 minutes. I've done everything i can to put this right but now i'm two weeks behind on the rent, £5 pound on the gas card, my electric meter is beeping at me and my tv licencse is overdue and no money for petrol to get to work. I'm well and truly up a certain creek without a certain rowing device. I really really really need my charge reclaims money.

Please gods of money saving experts, what can i do????????????
  • Have you got copies of your accounts from July 2001?

  • I opened the account in 2002 and have all of them up to march08 but i went on my online account (i'm an online banker) to get the rest last week but they've block my account because of the troubles and now i'm only allowed to see my loan payment status.

You need statements March 2008 to todays date. Then you need to send the first letter and make sure you make them aware of the arrears and any arrears notices. Explain how the charges are making it worse. I will PM with regards to the natwest issue though cos I am not putting it on the open forum.

You have rent arrears, which is priority debt.
So you can claim financial hardship and your claim can be processed now.
    (If I got it right...)
