Microdirect has an 80GB version for £45.10 inc delivery, and if there's something else you want at the same time ebuyer sells a similar DigiHome box for £45.24 (pictured), with free delivery on orders over £50.
    All gone now :(
  • Beware of the digihome pvr. I have had one of these for some time (since 2007) and it has worked well until the "digital switchover" which took place at the Winter Hill Transmitter earlier this week.
Now I have found out that this equipment is not capable of picking up Digital Channel 62 through which BBC1, BB2, BBC3, BBC News and a couple of other minor stations are transmitted in this area.
If you are thinking of buying one of these machines make sure that it has the most up to date software version to enable it to recognize ALL the channels or you will find yourself missing some of your favourites!!
  • I have a Digihome pvr, and I too lost the BBC channels this week. My husband googled and got help on the AV forums to get the channels back. Apparently you have to have had the automatic update feature enabled, as the machine has been supposedly been receiving updates all year ready for the switchover. It took him all evening and an old cable to download the software.

    Hi,
    Revival of an old thread...

What's the best Freeview DVR you can get nowadays under £90 (delivered)..?
 That window's cracked on both sides!!
  • It is NOT a good time to buy a Freeview TV or PVR. In the next few months it will be possible to get HD channels free from Freeview. Most places in the UK will get them before the World Cup.

Unfortunately, you will need a new Freeview box or TV AND THEY ARE NOT EVEN AVAILABLE YET. Go to www.freeview.co.uk for more information.

That depends on what you want out of it.

Freeview HD is still a few years in some area but not all

Then if its just for bedroom tv probably over kill going hd

I just bought a freesat sd box for £30 for MIL for bedroom as she doesn't have an aerial and she wants a pvr (humax) and not bothered about HD we have to wait for freeview HD for at least another 2-3 years

    I've been Money Tipped!
    confused by these things.

I have bt vision at the monent (freeview) but is is a pain as it never works properly. I have had 4 error codes since xmas and phone Bt oodles of time. At present not working at all!!

If I want to cancel this and stoip paying as it is a waste of money. what's the best alternative that might work?

I don't have sky or any other service just BT broadband and the bt vision box linked ot a 3 year old tv.

Should I buy a pvr instead and if so willl it just work or are they hard to set up? I am not that techincal. (I have a good areial for the freeview)

    Thanks
