For the negative posters.........
Princess Diana swore by Damart!!!
I work in an environment (a garage) that I find it really hard to dress in - in the sense that I need to look smart (ish) in the office - but I am in and out of the work shop or they are in and out of the office and during the winter it is v bl**dy cold!! I hate it - I dread it - I don't know how to clothe myself...
I've got some damart... I got some EMU boots... but it is hard to combine these lovely warm items with clothes and still look ok and smart (ish) and not look like you have gained 34 stone, can still move easier than the michelin man and be able to move arms and legs to drive to and from work...
Winter is my bug bear...Genie

Hi Jeannieblue
I used to have a similar problem. I used to be a new build sales negotiator. My office was in a converted garage, iof I was lucky - sometimes it was a portacabin. Visitors would often leave the door open and I would also be out on the site a lot. I had to be very smart and wear business suits (skirts not trousers).
I used to wear thermal underwear and it was a Godsend - I don't think I would have managed to get through winter without it. I used to wear thick woolly tights to match the suits, usually black or navy. If I wore boots all day I would develop chillblains on my toes, so I used to wear warm insoles in my shoes instead.
When sitting at my desk I would slip a shawl or pashmina round my shoulders which I could quickly hide if anyone from head office arrived.
Lots of hot drinks and mugs of soup to keep warm and try to warm my hands.
Thank goodness I don't do that job any more!!! Lovely in summer, not quite so nice on a cold, damp foggy winters day.0 -
I have had a look at the NZ site - but 28.95 for a short sleeve top is a bit too much for me - even tho it is Euro's....
I prefer long sleeve but hate anything too high around my neck - hate that choked feeling and never wear roll necks.Genie

I'm off Skiing in a week and spent £150 with a company called White Rock www.whiterock-direct.co.uk to get thermal underwear for my whole family. The website looked great and the prices were also fantastic but needless to say if something looks to good to be true it generally is. After several e-mails from them saying things in certain colours weren't available and getting me to change they then decided none of my order was now available as they'd send my items to other customers!! When I queried what had happened to my order they were VERY rude. All I can say is avoid these people like the plague if you actually want to get your items. I had to go to TK Maxx which actually had loads of stuff at really good prices.0

I'm wearing my thermal leggings and top today. Weather awful but feel cosy. I can recommend them, especially if you want warm knees!. I got them from a place that Kittie recommended and am very pleased with them." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

In recent cold weather I've been wearing normal underwear, then pyjama trousers, plus ordinary trousers on top. The key thing seems to be having 2 layers.0

I bought some reasonably priced ones from peacocks, I think it was 2 for £8. I wear one pair, hubby wears the other. Heating is not on so often now so I guess they are working.0

Since I had thyroid trouble I have not been able to keep warm.
After I get out of the shower, I put a full set of thermals on - top and bottoms, but I still feel cold.
My feet are cold even though I have thermal walking socks on.
The only time I am warm is when I'm in bed.
Mine are from M&S.NSK Zombie # SFD 7/15 Food Bank £0/£5

This is a tip that I read on another site and it works for anyone like me whose thermal lj's tend to work their way down [cr*tch wise] during the day.
Hope this is of use for someone. Such an easy solution, wish I'd known about it earlier.......it is
Put another pair of pants on over them [apparently it works on tights too].
