Thermal underwear

I'm posting this question on 3 boards.

:p OH and me were talking about this yesterday:

Thermal underwear - who makes the best, most effective and as a 3rd consideration, economical? Oh yes, any tips or experiences? :rolleyes:

I reckon we going have to get some in for the winter.

    No idea. Wouldn't be seen dead in any form of thermal underwear, unless I was planning to go up Everest, which I'm not.

    Try this: http://www.davidnieper.co.uk/soft-jersey-cotton-vest/GB/2/031/SLIP/style/9721/

    They also do a mixed silk and wool.

    Years ago when I was running a livery yard I bought some from a firm call Damart or something like that. Anyway it was very warm but when I washed it and put it in the tumble dryer it shrank so I send it back for a refund. I got a letter saying that I should have put it out on a washing line to dry rather than put it in a tumble dryer. SO I phoned and said I still wanted a refund on the basis that if the weather was suitable to hang out washing I was unlikely to have to need thermal underwear. The man asked how much I was owed and then said "You will get your money back even if I have to write you a check from my own account". It pays to be a nuisance sometimes!

    Lidl sometimes have special offers, comes under their ski wear so may not be yet, both male & female sizes

    You can sign up online for their newletter which tells you the available offers

    I use theirs for winter bike clothing, washes fine
    Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens

    Thanks for the link Savvy-Sue,

    I bought some silk thermals for my Scottish holiday in January and it was amazingly comfortable and warm. This site seems to have such a variety of clothing and very reasonable prices. I think I might be seriously tempted.

    Thanks:beer::beer::beer:

    I bought a set from Tesco for a Christmas holiday, was reasonably priced, very nice to look at and even better did the job!
