Sar I dont know how the Hell I managed to miss this.....
I know exactly what you are saying and if you think it is for the best YOU DO IT!!
Dont let all these people bring you down....you are an inspiration to people... I only wish I could be as organised and full of life as you,but that aint never gonna happen.
This is one of the reasons I have never done an SOA or a diary of my own....I dont want people picking me apart.
You are entitled to a life and to treat yourself,Ste and the kids occasionally...no-one can live their whole life thinking about debt and how to deal with it.
You do have a life to lead, you are only young once you know:D

We still wanna see your tattoo you know:p
    so you better come back:A
You know we all love you whatever happens:T

I agree... i haven't done a SOA cause i'm chicken and would hate it to be ripped apart.

I agree also... you better come back and show us the Tat!!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

    Hey Gorgeous!

I've not been around much lately, so I've missed all the controversy (again! ) but I support your decision whatever it is.

I'd like you to know though, that the fact that you're human, and normal, and you f*ck up is what makes you inspirational to so many people.

Personally I find it hard to relate to super virtuous paragon types cos I know I'll never ever be one. :D:o

But you my love, are a role model I can handle - because although you are intimidating fabulous :D with your CAB and everything you also make non MSE decisons, (I'm refusing to call them mistakes) and then tell us all about it.

I love your open-ness, frankness, and your honesty and I hope that at least some of the people who were critical were just being equally open about what they thought - and not just sniping for the fun of it.

Do whatever you feel you want to honeybun, but try not to let mean people mess with your head.

    Love Jacks xxx :D

  • The decision is ultimately yours (obviously ;)) but please don't resign - an mse holiday may be all you need. I actually admire the way you are spending now - and I don't care what the doubters say - your current spending is controlled because you always have a plan to repay it - and generally in the fastest, cheapest way. Don't let the anally retentive get you down - you're worth a million of them!
Whatever you decide please let us see your finished tattoo!
    Take care Sarah.
    love and hugs

    Hi

I am not an IA "fan", just aware of all the excellent advice and support you have given to people over the time I have been on board.

I am sorry if people have been sniping but it really is not for other people to dictate how you live your life, and that applies equally to the sort of troll who has invaded your space from time to time and any hardline DFWers.

Much as I would like you to continue posting, I do not feel that I or anyone else has the right to influence that decision.

    Whenever, whatever.

    hello tattoo-mate ;)

As someone who has just returned from a self imposed sabbatical I can see exactly where you are coming from. I read the posts you mentioned so know (well, partly, not sure if anything else has contributed) what has prompted this.

I think a bit of an MSE holiday will do you good - although I warn you - you'll be lurking in no time ;)

I don't think starting again user name wise will give you anonymity for long - been there, done that, been spotted ;) Lots of us have our own style of writing and it's weird how it comes across as our stamp of who we are.

To those detractors of Sarah's out there - I know Sarah in the real world and trust me, she's very human with dreams, needs, worries and 'stuff'. She's just like the rest of us with our strengths and our weaknesses and she knows that when she shows a perceived 'weakness' (ie being human!!!) where to put it right, whereas lots of others would just fall off the wagon, say sod it and keep spending with the head being stuffed firmly back a hole. Where in the past - pre MSE - it would have been head in the sand, another few hundred won't matter, - the new level headed, budget for it Sarah knows how to start to undo anything that needs undoing spending wise.

Yes, Sar, you DO really tightly budget for ages, pay off tonnes and then have a little financial 'feast' , but you KNOW you're doing it and acknowledge it and you then plan it all into the bigger scheme of things, which is fine - honest!!! It's similar to someone on a diet - they eat cabbage soup for 3 months, lose 3 stone, then the need to 'binge' is overwhelming, a slight 'fog' descends (even though the dieter knows they are straying) and when the fog clears they can either give up or draw a line under it, say 'I'm human, but I'll get there' and continue on the path. You are firmly the latter and all strength to you girl ;)

To abbeylover - who's post has gone now thankfully - Sar doesn't claim benefits she isn't entitled to and isn't on holiday at the moment, she juggles a whole bloody lot more than most of us to keep her family going, work towards attaining her own dreams AND pay off the debt.

Anyway, don't go completely (anyway, you've had your MSE chip implanted in your brain now, so you can't escape ;) ) just chill for a few days, enjoy getting the tattoo, the sunshine, playing your bass, playing with the kids and singing your music.

And then come back refreshed, a stronger (not scary) gothy tattooed type of tinkerbell (fab line barnaby - love it!) with a big black Ann Summers whip to sort out those judgemental, know nothing about the 'inner you' ninky nonks..............god, I've been wanting to use the word ninky nonk again for ages.....;) :p :rotfl:

Anyway, you know where I am outside MSE if you want me and I'll be checking facebook even more regularly to see your tat pics :T

    Sar,
I have often said this to you on your thread-by putting so much of yourself onto a public forum, you leave yourself wide open for attack-I know, been there, done that.

You've weathered many storms, and will have to weather many more. Your friends are there for you here and IRL.

Be strong, do what you need to do and stop putting yourself down.

Hi Don't remember where I read the following but you are definately a sweet po tater.

Some people never seem motivated to participate but are justcontent to watch others who do.
    They are called Spec Taters.

Some people never do anything to help, but are gifted to find fault with the way others do things.
    They are called Comment taters.

Some people are very bossy, and like to tell others what to do, but do not want to soil their own hands doing it themselves.
    They are called !!!!!! Taters.

Some people say they will help, but just somehow never get around to actually doing so.
    They are called Hezzi Taters.

Some people put on a front to try and pretend to be someone they are not.
    They are called Immi Taters.

Then there are those people who love others and do what they say they will. They are always prepared to stop what they are doing themselves to lend a helping hand.
They bring real sunshine into others lives.
They are called Sweet Po Taters.
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

Can't really add much more to what has been said Sar.... perhaps some time out will do you good, but I would bet my bottom dollar you will be back! This place is addictive!

You do not have to answer to anyone here, only to yourself and Ste, so what you do is entirely up to you.... unfortunately, because you are so honest, you do leave yourself open to attack. I'll be honest and say that sometimes I don't *agree* with what you do (agree is the wrong word, but I know what I mean!) but I do not judge, as our lives are all our own (and it would mean I would have to confess to bailing OH out AGAIN!!! )

But anyway, take care of yourself and your beautiful family, take some time out and we'll see you on your return

    loves

    Sarah

PS - I want to see tat pics too, and I wish I was brave enough to get one!

ia, withoit your thread i never would have decided to apply to become a cab advisor myself, i am normally a lurker, but i would be sad to see you retire! i went for my interview last week and got a call today to tell me that i was sucessful, this is an amazing move for me as i was bullied really badly at my last job and have a real lack of confidence, but i can do this, you have worked hard to get where you have and don't let anyone tell you what you should and shouldn't do with your hard earnt cash!
