Hi there, I'm Laura and I am 30.
I am mum to Daniel who is 4 and step mum to 3 more!! (12, 20 & 22!! )
I've been married for 6 yrs and live in lovely market town near the east coast of Lincolnshire. I am the shift worker in my relationship (12hrs at a time on the nee nahs) so dont' get much spare time to myself.
I love reading everyones threads on here, get loads of ideas and inspiration.
I did my first hamper 2 weeks ago, not done much else crafty (step DD is really into cards, love to look at all the bits and bobs but don't know where to start) But I am quite handy with the old sewing machine, bought mine on price drop TV, got a right bargain. I have been know to make curtains, cushion covers etc etc.
Anyway, keep all the great ideas flowing. Husband thinks I'm mad talking to my virtual friends (what does he know, all he does is drink tea and watch sport on tv!!!):p:silenced:0 -
Think all our husbands think we're mad talking on here and getting all excited about baskets , door hangers , nappy cakes , flannel cupcakes etc but they don't complain about how much we save . lol

Hi fellow crafters:) I am Margaret and am very happily married to a wonderful man. Mum to six lovely children(all adults now) and Granny to two gorgeous Grandchildren. I live in N/Ireland, and am retired now through ill health. Love to knit make cards read a lot, and am going to start cross stitching again. I am really enjoying the company on here, and it does lift me up. I was always so busy and have to take a slower pace now, so it is important to have hobbies like these. Lovely to hear about you all.xxDo a little kindness every day.;)0

Hi all, gosh you are all very clever, I did a little bit of card making but lack the time now after having a baby girl 11 weeks ago, and my five year also keeps me very busy. I like cross stitch and baking also and have been to college to do sugar craft/cake dec. I'm off to a burlesque night and have most of my outfit ready but really, really want a lovely 50's style underskirt/petticoat, does anyone know how to make one or can point me in the direction of a 'how to' online? Thanks a lot!!! Happy crafting!:A :

jamtart6 - i have so many questions!!! But one which i am really stressing over - how do you add inserts to cards without making them look rubbish, ie being able to see the glue, or the glue drying in so tight that the paper starts to crease?0
-
now I know where all the craftsters hang out - so here goes
just me and dd(11) and (23) at home and then another dd(19) with dgs(3)
I can ...
cross stitch
hardanger
knit
crochet
sew - if it's quite basic
bead
embroider
i can't do anything with paint, paper or glue. I can collect stuff
At the moment I'm alternating between crochet angels which i will stiffen and send out to family members this year (much more manageable than last year's socks which nearly killed me) and a cross stitch mermaid which is for ME!I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -

I use a thin line of double sided tape just below the crease to hold mine in.
