OMG i love your bag instructions , i so need my sewing machine out of the loft , but the other half say's ''loft'' is a swear word as he has to attempt going up there :rotfl:

The first one I made as a 'tester' is my peg bag now:p If you're going to have a go and make them yourself I thought you might like to know that I made the bag about 6inches longer than on the original pattern and I put a piece of cardboard in the bottom so it stands more easily. It is easy to add a flap too. Good luck:beer:

Oooh, Amyandoli - that sounds really promising - good luck! Sounds like I could learn a lot from you re altered art. I have dabbled at making my own bath products, but the bath bombs made me cross - they got stuck in the mould. I had to put the whole thing including the mould in the bath.

thankyou, lol your bath bombes sound like my first attempts early on :) I started on altered art when I spotted a book in the library, it's great fun but not a lot of my friends are into it at all (im the only full on craftymiss in our group).

Well, where to start. I'm Maggie (unsurprisingly), 23, married (two years last month), no kids (yet - we've both been getting broody), and I started card making earlier this year, mostly due to having become a hobby widow when the husband took up photography (he's very good, if you're interested http://www.flickr.com/photos/twoodward/).

Having thought about it, I guess I've always been crafty. My sister and I used to redecorate our bedroom periodically, and would often repaint/customise furniture in that selfsure way that kids do! I also used to 'do up' all my own clothes, but I've not had a sewing machine since I moved to London with hubby - am thinking of buying one again soon and getting back into it.

For anyone who hasn't seen my cards, and would like to - http://www.photobucket.com/maggiebob . Card making turned out to be perfect for me, because I love giving people stuff, and I have a stationary fetish - I'm a sit and stroke my pretty papers type - lol!

Oh, I also made my first gift hamper this year and loved it, so I will be doing more of those.

Right, I've gone on long enough...

(P.S. lovely to meet you all!)
In a better financial position than ever before (thank you MSE!). Moved back to Scotland and now trying to keep debt-free!

I also thought I would be really clever and add loads of lavender spears to it. So when I used it in the bath I was picking lavender out of my hair for hours. I've still got loads of ingredients just sitting in the cupboard. I keep meaning to have another go at it.
I "altered" a keepsake which was fun, but the next box that I tried to alter was a disaster - I think that one is going in the bin. I haven't tried to alter anything else yet - still plucking up the courage. What sort of projects have you done, and have you had much success selling anything?

:rotfl: This made me chuckle maggie, I buy scrapbooking papers and never use them because they are too pretty, kills me to cut them:o

I used some lovely papers to decorate that box that is destined for the bin. I am really gutted - they were too pretty to waste!

I would love to be crafty but I am not crafty at all - tried to make soaps and bathbombs but spent a fortune and they were rather pants.
However I do repair and restore photographs as a hobby and I guess
that this could be seen as a craft. It started when I inherited loads of pictures while doing my family tree (which I have done for pressies for people too) and started repairing them and tinting them.
I guess what I need it to learn to scrapbook so that I can offer these as complete pressies.

Hi there I guess my name is self explanatory. I am mum to 4, 3 married, and grandma to 3 little ones soon to be 4 little ones. Ours is a crazy home with lots of love in it, we are truely blessed. My religion is important to me but you won't find me preaching it I just try to live it. I worked in schools supporting children on a 1 - 1 but since being ill about 7 yrs ago I am unable to work. My amazing hubby is great about coming home and finding me knelt on the floor with fabric and patterns and then pins in my mouth and tea not even started. I love most craft, not into card making or scrapbooking, but I do appreciate the work in them. I love knitting especially toys as you may have guessed. I also love Primitive Stitchery and beadwork and if there is a craft shop around I have the ability to sniff it out when in a new town. My name on one forum is beaderselbow, bit like having tennis elbow, from doing too much beadwork at one point, my kids love the name.
