I have a lovely collection of Swarovski crystals and handmade lampwork beads that I can't bear to make into jewellery and then sell, scared of them going to unappreciative homes I guess, so I admire my Swaros and stroke my beads.

  • Hello everyone! I've been lurking and posting on this board for a while now so thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm Lucy, 25 years old, married for 8 months with no little ones (yet). I work full time, but since hubby started working shifts I've found myself with a little more time on my hands, hence my crafty interest. Although I love crafting, I'm not particularly artistic so a lot of it is just for my own fun. I got craftier ;) (if you know what I mean) when I made decorations, table plans etc for my wedding last year. I loved doing that, and was so pleased with the finished product. I dabble in card making, love making baskets and hampers for gifts. I also love cooking and making edible gifts. I really want a sewing machine as I haven't done any sewing for years and would love to make some cushions and bags. Crafting must be really popular as I keep trying to pick up a machine on eBay but keep being gazumped!

I absolutely love all the crafty threads on here- particularly seeing pics of people's creations. I'm a really visual person so actually seeing people's creations really inspires me.

    Hi Lucy,

Do you have a netto near you? 2 or 3 times a year they do machines for around £20 they are the ful size ones not those little mini things. You can check out their website or sign up for their e mails then you'll know when they get them in. hope this helps trisha x

    Hi all :hello:

I'm Louise and I usually lurk about on Old Style. I'm 28, married, no kids and one cat. My thing is currently card making and gift box making but recently I vowed to make all my own clothes for the next year  - that's going to be fun! I love baking and cake decorating.

My aunt always used to buy me those dryad gift sets for Christmas and that's really how I started. I have tried calligraphy, stamping, journalling, book binding, decoupage, flower pressing, marquetry, gift baskets, polymer clay/clay sculpture, knitting, and tons more but always seem to go back to paper craft. I'd love to try pyrography though after seeing it demonstrated at a craft show.

what I do: cardmaking and scrapbooking, cross stitching (although that has taken a backseat with the cardmaking etc) since joing MSE: Flannel cakes, hampers and baskets, nappy cakes (had quite a few orders) baking bread

    Nice to meet you all.
  • I am still pretty new here, but I tend to use this part of the forum the most

I am Lizzy, I have a 3 1/2 year old daughter, we are expecting our 2nd baby on the 15th September. Been with OH for 6 years, he is another who works shifts so I guess my crafty side comes out when he is on lates and LO is in bed!

So far I have made hampers, flannel cakes, a nappy cake, glass painting, bath salts. I like cooking too, so home made things go into my hampers.

Oh can join in please :-)
My name is Roberta aka Bobs, I am 34 and Mum to 3 great kids aged 9, 6 and 3. I also childmind so need hobbies to give me an interest when everyone has gone to bed.
I have done a fair bit of cross stitch, used to knit but who really wants knitted stuff apart from new borns :-( ended up knitting stuff just for the sake of it .... especially Aran jumpers (prob more a Northern Ireland thing).
Tried out card making and make wedding invites for my niece but then I discovered Jewellery making ..... I love watching for the postman just to see those gorgeous beads .... I have been known just to lay them on the bench and it gets me through the day (with all the noisy kids) .... then get them to bed pour a large glass of red and off I go. Have done a couple of craft fairs but mainly sell to family and friends ..... would love to sell more so that I can feed my wee bead addiction LOL
    Thats about me :-)
