MSE Crafty people - Who are you and what do you do!

Options
Ok so I find myself in this section of the board quite a lot lately, I have cupboards full of hamper items, crafty flannels and soap to make reindeer etc, flannels for cupcakes, baskets up to my ears, stripy socks for monkeys, door hangers for kids etc etc ...

What I would like to know is ... Who are ya! I go through endless threads and always the same lovely people posting .... and always such lovely creations, names that immediately spring to mind are:

Rainmac
BugMummaF
Mrsproudmum
SethsGran
SammyKaye
Mummyoftwo

(apologise if your names aren't right)
Can we have a thread of who are you how old are you (come on you can't all still be 21!), and what do you do .... Feel free to add some pics ;)

well I best start it off ....
Name: Tams
Age: 26
Stay at home mummy to Thomas (5) and Maddison (14 months)
What do I do: Nappy cakes, hampers, door hangers, sweety boxes, sock monkeys, flannel cupcakes
What would I like to do: Make my own cards but not crafty enough! Will try my hand any most things though.

Anyone else going to join me?

Hi, Tams, great idea a sort of meet and great thread!

My name is Sarah; rainmac is an anagram of my maiden name plus another 'a.

I am 33, married and a stay at home mummy to my two boys aged 4 years and 18 months. I wasn't at all crafty when I was younger but my creative side has developed since having DS1.

What I do: my main crafty hobbies are cross stitching and card making but this year, mainly thanks to joining MSE and meeting all of you on this board, it has spread to nappy cakes, door hangers and lots of other bits and bobs. I don't make anything to sell but would like to.

What I may be also soon: I am about to look into making handmade wedding stationery for a lady who has her own business - the money from this would help pay a few bills and fund my ever growing craft obsession :rotfl:I am feeling very nervous about the prospect of working again/ finding the time to fit 5-10 hours a week in (I know to any of you workers this must sound ridiculous!)/ am I good enough to produce the quality that will be required...I could go on! On the flip side I am also very excited about it, will let you know what happens :D

    Come on, next...

    Hi Tams and Sarah.

My name is Sue, I'm married 41 year old mum of daughter nearly 21 and son nearly 17. My main hobbies are knitting and crochet. My nan taught me to knit(very basic)at the age of 5 on two six inch nails (LOL). I self taught myself the rest. I learned to crochet from the internet about a year ago. I'm not brilliant at it but get by. (The teaset hats in my avatar didn't turn out too badly)
I like to turn my hand to anything but money is tight so I tend to craft what we need/could use.
I like to recycle items and am just about to rebead an old screen divider which holds 12 candles for the garden which I was given but needs tidying up.
I have made a few things from wood, big planters and the collumns you saw already. I also made a tipsy pot too.
I sew too, I'm about to embark on making a photo quilt for my daughters 21st birthday, this is new to me so will see how it goes. (LOL)

    I'm Jo

38 years old, mother of two.

I used to cross stitch, and also make jewellery, all of which sort of got sidelined while the kids were growing up, and am now back into the jewellery making with avengence, have been doing it again for about 3 years now, broaded my techniques by learning some beadweaving and wirework and now sell at craft fairs and have a website/online shop.

I also make beaded gifts such as bookmarks etc and have expanded further into making french beaded flowers.

    I'm Mary.................bit of an 'oldie'.......dare I say it...........64 ???
Love making cards but still learning a lot from everyone

Would love to more 'crafty' things..........not too good at anything that needs sewing but always willing to try the easier stuff especially if it means saving a bit of money.

I stay at home and am foster carer for teenagers..........though we have got a boy of 11 at the moment as well as a 17 yr. old.

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Hello everyone. I usually just lurk on the crafty threads.

    I'm Sam and I'm 28.
I'm a programmer and I'm the least creative person I know, but I took up card making initially as a money saving activity (worked out I spent £70 - 80 a year on cards). Now I spend that £80 on craft stuff :D

My card making has taken a bit of a side line at the moment as I've just bought a house, so all my creativity is going into DIY at the mo.

Aside from cards, I like cross stitch, but am still yet to finish my first cross stitch design (its a 20cm square pooh and eeyore pic) which will probably end up being in the nursery for our first child in about 5 years!

This year I am going to make hampers with homemade chocolate slabs for Christmas, inspired by the posts on here. I've been collecting bits and pieces for them since January.

My name is Ewa (pronounced Eva, I'm Swedish) and I'm 32yrs old. Mother of 2 lovely boys 5 and 3 1/2. Expecting my 3rd child any day now....

I like scrap booking, doing one for my dads 60th birthday next year. Filling it with pictures of my family since he doesn't get to see the grandkids very often due to living so far away.
I also do a fair bit of knitting at the moment. Learned how to do it earlier this year and now got the bug. Have knitted hats and scarfs for my boys and are now working on Sheldon the turtle (a pattern that sethsgran posted :))
Done a few hampers and pots of gold as Christmas gifts.
Two years ago when Scoobies were popular I made loads of personalized key rings and sold them on ebay

This forum is one of my favorites since it gives me so many ideas of crafts and gifts to make. :j

I'm teresa known as trisha to my friends. I am 49 married with 4 sons age 27, 25, and 16 year old twins and a daughter aged 21. I have 4 grandchildren 2 of whom live with me .

I do cardmaking and crosstitching at the moment and am just starting out in scrapbooking. I too am making lots of hampers for xmas. Did a movie one for eldest son's birthday now they all want one.

Used to knit but there are only so many soft toys you can churn out at an alarming rate before becoming sick of the sight of them . lol

Would love to try a nappy cake for my new grandchild due nov.
