If you have checked APACS sort code checker Nationwide is one of the banks/building society that will be able to receive FP hence the reason making a test payment.;)0 -
Thanks. Yet another instance for not believing what the staff tell you!0

Hello folks,
This is a quote from the official Fast Payments website which is found on: http://www.fastpayments.co.uk/faq.asp
Are All Banks In the Scheme?
Twelve banking groups (Barclays, HBOS, HSBC, RBSG, Lloyds TSB, Nationwide, Alliance & Leicester, Co-op Bank, Abbey, National Australia Bank, Northern Rock, Danske Bank Group) have committed to implement the scheme. Between them they represent 95% of the payments made in the UK. The other banks and building societies will be making decisions on how, when and if to join the scheme over the next year or so.
Personally, I've never had a problem with transferring money through different accounts specially when transferring between Lloyds accounts but it does clearly say on the site that tranfers outside of "so and so" hours will not be made until "so and so" date if transfers are being made out of banking hours.0 -

It would have been nice if FP works for everyone and it was also during banking hours that I've done my transaction. Once my 2 yrs 8% RS is due in October I'm off just leaving £1.00 with my classic plus account.0 -
My understanding was that they are bringing in fasterpayments but that it is only being offered for certain flexaccount numbers at the moment, not to everyone. Certainly it's never worked for my lloyds/nationwide transfers so far.
I'll send a secure message to nationwide to find out if my flexaccount number will be able or unable to receive FP.0 -

There seems to be a huge collective holding of breath of the Faster Payments Fiasco - to give FPS its proper name. I was intrigued at that APACS quote from http://www.fastpayments.co.uk/faq.asp ["Twelve banking groups have committed to implement the scheme"] since that suggests something on paper which I've never come across. The nearest thning to any kind of 'commitment' was when APACS agreed with the Faster Payments Taskforce/OFT to make Faster Payments available to its customers (the member banks). It has and they haven't by and large. If Nationwide, Abbey, the Co-op Bank are showing 'commitment' at present God help us when they ease up on all this meticulously planned 'roll-out' and 'customer information'... A&L, Lloyds and HBOS are a bit better - being able to receive for some time so you can believe it is only a matter of 'when' with sending payments - not 'whenever'. And RBS, Barclays and HSBC have put the others to shame really......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0
