The problem is, you can't see the clock screen or find out whether FP is working online until you confirm the transaction, by which time you've confirmed you want to send it even if it is by Bacs...

But you should then be able to go to the transfers and payments screen and delete the payment, then use telephone banking to send the payment immediately.

But still there is no guarantee that the phone payment will go via FP (I did call once and after 'making' the payment via the operator it just backed up as a 'to send as BACS' acknowledgement) Maybe, since I called, they are processing a higher proportion of requests now?
.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam

Yes, I did that as well. And I have to ask the advisor to cancel it and don't bother. Not much money save in my LTSB account anyway.
  • My faster payments go through fine.

If I ring up then the transfer leaves there and then and arrives the same time.
If I use internet banking the transfer leaves the next day and arrives a few mins later.

I've only been doing transfers to FD but they all go through fine. My standing orders are all going through by same day faster payments as well.

Seems maybe some accounts are equipt to do it and some aren't.

If it doesn't leave until the next day it's not a faster payment! The whole point is that it leaves on the day of the request and arrives the same day.
  • i think lloyds are not faster payment they dont leave till the next day and thats a problem as my lloyds debit card only works in lloyds cash machine which is around 24 miles away hard when you have two kids with you on busses i am changing to A & L asap just waiting for my card to arrive then im leaving lloyds after 7 years of problems
    you cant change yesterday

I've tried to make test payments online of £1 each from LLoyds classic plus account to my other current accounts which can receive FP A/L, Nationwide and Halifax but the earliest date that they could send will be tomorrow 24/09/08. Anyway I'll still try to find out after 2 hours if something happens to my recipient accounts.

Lloyds FP is not really FP as it happens the next day. And just for update of my test payments: Halifax received my payment within minutes on the 24th whereas A/L and nationwide arrived yesterday.
  • When I last asked at Nationwide about FP, the cashiers had no knowledge of what I was asking about! I don't think they do accept FPs, so that's why your Nationwide payment took 3 days to reach that account.
