Fasterpayment with LTSB

  • Very poor service for LTSB.
Tried to send some payments with their online banking this morning. The earlier date for the fund to leave my account would be tomorrow. And not even faster payment!
So called their telephone banking to see if it was possible. Also failed.

I think I will stick to First Direct current account linked with Tesco internet saver account. Much better interest rate and much reliable.
  • I'm incredibly annoyed that they haven't kept customers informed properly about what's going on. It's just a lottery at the moment as to when payments will arrive!

In the last couple of weeks I've had to go into the branch, draw out large sums of money, and physically walk it over the road to Natwest where my other account is so that I can make the quick payments - Natwest has faster payments working perfectly!

What with that and the hideous new 2012 debit card Lloyds just sent me, I'm seriously considering ditching Lloyds (after 20 years!) and moving to another bank!
  • My wife's LTSB account is also unable to make faster payments either.

We have several accounts and Lloyd's seem to have the worst Internet service of our banks. Whilst I am sure they will get better I would hate to have this as my main bank account.

Awww they didn't send me an Olympics one, just a boring white one. I liked my old card... it was bright green with a horse on it.
  • Apparently the poor communication isn't just to customers. I asked about the Faster Payments problem at my branch today, and they knew nothing about it! It took them two phonecalls to find out that there was indeed a problem, and there is no expected date for it to be put back online. It's due to a fraud issue apparently.

The branch staff were pretty annoyed - apparently anything like this is supposed to be communicated to all branches, and they've been told nothing!

I've tried to make test payments online of £1 each from LLoyds classic plus account to my other current accounts which can receive FP A/L, Nationwide and Halifax but the earliest date that they could send will be tomorrow 24/09/08. Anyway I'll still try to find out after 2 hours if something happens to my recipient accounts.
  • LTSB appear to have gone back to sending payments over 3 days as if they were BACS. However, if the receiving account accepts faster payments it appears as a faster payement, even though it left the LTSB account several days ago. This is just from what I've seen, there has been no official communication from LTSB about what they are doing.

I have just been on the phone AGAIN to Lloyds bank to ask why the faster payment service STILL does not seem to be working and they inform me the service has been suspended for Internet banking but works with phone banking. I asked them to put up a message to this effect when logging into Internet banking so we dont waste our time checking if he payment has been carried out. I was also informed that if/when the faster payment service is working we will see a clock on the screen trying to connect to the receiving bank and the time it should be in the new bank !!

I tried earlier today to transfer money from Lloyds to FD via telephone banking and it would only go by BACS and not FP

The problem is, you can't see the clock screen or find out whether FP is working online until you confirm the transaction, by which time you've confirmed you want to send it even if it is by Bacs...
