Hi folks,
Well it is still on for Sat, i have hacked Jim round the village this week and he seems fine i even took him for a canter round the farm today and we both enjoyed that.
His frog is still a little sore when you apply pressure to it but i think (fingers crossed) it seems to be drying out a bit.
I am going to miss him soooooo much i love him dearly but i have to think with my head not with my heart from now on.
The lady who istaking him says i can visit him any time and she will keep in touch. So i will visit him after a while to check he is ok.
To be honest i will be heart broken on sat but relieved he has found a nice home for such a lovely horse.

Anychance - I'm so glad you've found somewhere for Jim. I know Saturday won't be easier but he's one lucky horse to have an owner who loves him so much to put him first. Hugs to you for Saturday xx0

That is such good news, although it is sad that you have to part with him, at least you know he is going to a really good home and also that he will still be able to be worked a bit and have the company of other horses. Much better than him ending his days in a riding school being worked to death.
I am so pleased for you. It is nice that you will be able to go and see him too.
If your vet recommended them, then he must know the family too, so even better.
I'm sure you will be devasted when he goes after having him so long, but at least it will be a weight off your mind knowing that although you are having to part with him, it is really for his own good.
Best of luck to him and you. Keep us informed about how he gets on when you hear.0 -
I put mine out on loan when I was struggling with money, you could try riding for the disabled they sometimes take horses especially if they are bomb proof0

Awww... ANYCHANCE i'm really pleased that you've found Jim a lovely new home and at least you can keep in touch and visit him - it's not like you have to say goodbye.
I know it's heartbreaking but you've really done the right thing!

Hi,
How did it go, did the lady come for Jim?
Did they look a nice family?
Keep us posted.

 Well, it didnt happen,
This horse is destined to stay
A horse on the yard was kicked in the field then a couple of days later its back legs went and the vet had to come and put it down, which was very sad the horse was 25 yrs old.
The vet then put the whole yard in quaranteen.(sorry for terrible spelling)
They suspected Equine Herpes.
The horses were all blood tested and the test came back as positive.
So in the meantime the lady who was interested in him bought a horse instead:rolleyes:
Jim and all the other horses are fine showing no symptoms they just have the antibodies....so its back to square one --again“most people give up just as they are about to achieve success”If you think you are going through hell keep going - Sir Winston ChurchillIf You Can't Change It, Change the Way You Think About It.SW, 13st5lb, -4 1/2, -1,(12st13.5lbs)0 -
