Justamum I am soooo pleased that you have sorted something out with the oil company. As for how you feel about yourself that will change - just take it slowly and get to like littlebits of yourself even if its just your wee toe its a start! And make up your mind that you are NOT a gargoyle and beauty is not skin deep it comes from within and I think you are just being hard on youself - we all have off days - I know - I have lost my hair with chemo and think I look like a bowling ball until I give myself a kick - please dont give up on yourself we are all here to help and support you.
    big hug xx

I had good news today at the hospital - I dont have to have chemo for another 2 months - so I can enjoy a bit more of this fab weather.

    TF xx

Such wonderful news you have a chemo break.. and now we all feel so bad for complaining about our big butts, our saggy jowls and our hideous malformations.. sometimes a kick in the right direction is needed.. reality check en plus!!

My college tutor had chemo about 18 months ago for breast cancer which now is in remission.. she gained about 3 stone due to the steroids and other junk she had to take.. but she is now looking fabulous.. her hair is a different texture and is curly but the weight has gone and the baddies have gone. My sisters employer had the same earlier this year.

respect to the lady who does NOT look like a bowling ball!!! bless you .. xx

Excused from further flying today.. I'd be shattered after the travelling!! .. you can catch up tomorrow!! lol ;)

That's great news, ToottiFrootti. My dad's last chemo session is in 2 weeks time, he doesn't know what the hospital has planned for him next. Hopefully we will get some good news.
Don't worry about the hair. I was talking to a lady at the hospital last week, she said she was really proud of being bald at the moment, because it shows the world how strong she is, in winning this battle. I reckon she's right, it's something to be proud of.

Thanks pigpen that was lovely thing to say - I am tired too but I have been having chemo for 6 years now - this is the longest I have been off it (6months) - so it has become a way of life for me - I desperately want to get some sort of law and order back in the flat before I have to start again (which I know I will) because it zaps the energy out of you.

this thread is been a god send to me!

Thanks Teria will be keeping my fingers crossed for your dad too! I get used to have no hair after a while - it has grown in a bit now and then over the last few years but then goes again - I have a lovely wig - which is too hot to wear - but I just use caps, scarfs or whatever. Once you get used to kids looking at you its ok!!! I am not very confident at the best of times so it just takes me a little while to come to terms with it.

tootifrooti - great news on the chemo break. Our pigpen has a lovely way with words, as have a few of the flyladys (I'm not one of them!) I often read something she has written and wish I could write like that. Enjoy the sunshine! Which part of Scotland do you live? xx
