  • I get the free monthly check with noddle and I'm due to check it soon so fingers crossed (though probably need to wait for the one the following month).

  • Morning all-

I was declared bankrupt in Dec 2009 and discharged Jul 2010. I have been checking my credit files for errors etc, but wondered if there is anything else I can do to improve my credit situation?

I am hoping to look at mortgages etc when the bankruptcy is cleared from my file.

    Thanks for any advice/signposting.
  • Just to update folks on my progress with the Halifax.

I received a phone call last Thursday from a lady in customer services who said she was dealing with my case and would pass the paperwork on to the relevant people either Friday or Monday. I had a letter to confirm this on Monday. On Tuesday she phoned me again to tell me it had all been sorted and my credit file should reflect the correct information - which was what I've been trying to get sorted for some time now! She then said that due to the problems caused from not correcting the data sooner they would like to send me a cheque for £75!! I was very pleasantly surprised by this (it hasn't arrived yet though).

My Noddle account was updated the next day and Halifax no longer appear :j:j My credit score is still very low (1/5?) so that's the next bit to tackle.

Is there any way in particular that you'll do this? I'm in the same position.

  • I've just successfully applied for Cashplus prepaid Mastercard with the creditbuilder option - there's a thread about it somewhere but I can't find it at the moment.

Probably needs a tidy up and maybe some links updating, but yes, the basic principles and process are still the same.

So letter on its own should still apply ... yes?
And if so, could I contact you directly if I have any issues with that?

    Thanks

No need for that as there is plenty of advice on the forum, and it is best to keep these things anonymous and public so that everyone can benefit. If you post with a problem, point me to it by all means.
