I have received my reports from Experian and Equifax (both say the same thing really), there are about 7 accounts still reporting as recently as 12th of this month! Also, Experian has my discharge as this year, and Equifax has it as 2015! I was discharged exactly a year after I was declared. I know I can write to the credit companies and get that fixed with a copy of my certificate, so that's ok.
My problem is - I didn't know anything about 'credit clean-up' when I went BR, so I dumped all of my account details etc. Am I able to write to these companies that are still reporting, with just an old address and personal details? I also need to obtain a copy of my BR certificate, I only have the discharge.
Anyone with any ideas?
Thanks
In theory, yes.
In practice it helps to have the account details. Does the AIB still have them?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Hello i have been cleaning up my credit file for the last year now.
after being discharged from bankrupcy and have this problem.
I have a ccj still showing i currently owe £24k which was included in my bankrupcy.
Is there any way of getting this ammended? i have spoken to barclays who insist it is not down to them to update! and to deal with the court directly. The court insist they cannot change the status without direct contact from the bank.
oh the barclays account along with all others have been updated to settled/partialy setled on my credit file.
I have 13months still remaining on the ccj.
can you guys point me in the right direction?
many thanks
joe
The court can only mark it as satisfied if you can (a) show the creditor has been paid or (b) the creditor confirms it was paid/settled.
With the BR you cannot show (a) as technically it wasn't paid, and Barclays understandably won't provide (b).
Honestly it's not worth worrying about.
The CCJ will be gone off your credit record before the bankruptcy itself goes, and the BR is the bigger nastier black mark.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Thanks fermi,
I appreciate your help.
It reassures me and puts me at ease.
This is todays email from Littlewoods which i think going in a better direction, but i will quote what you said if it fails.
Dear Mrs Howard,
Thank you for your e-mail Mr Howard.
Your initial e-mail may relate to your wife's account, that could be the reason you are getting addressed as Mrs Howard.
On checking your accounts we have no documentation recorded of your bankruptcy.
Please send the original bankruptcy papers and the discharge certificate, you can mail them to us

I am nearly finished cleaning up my brother's credit file. A couple of dates still need fixing despite the ICO writing to the companies involved.
I had a couple of questions.
1. Do these accounts drop off 6 years after the settled date (Feb 2010 the date of his discharge) or 6 years after the default date (Feb 2009 the date of his BR)?
2. Do the accounts drop off automatically or will we have to write to the companies involved or the reference agencies to get them removed?
3. Will his BR drop off automatically or will we have to write to reference agencies to get them to do it?
4. There is a blank Date Satisfied under his BR in the court information section. Should this be filled in with his discharge date or something else?
Many thanks in advance.0 -
Does anyone know how long it usually takes the ICO to do their thing, i wrote to them last year, and had to send some extra info i think at beg of this year, as i still have a default on my file, with a balance still owing of over 2K.
Just wondered if anyone knew how their process works??0 -
They did allegedly have a 6 month backlog a while back. Not sure what now.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

A company called Arrow Global have put a default on my credit file. This occurred about four years ago. I went through the process of requesting credit agreements, etc. As I suspected there were none. I have spent the last three years trying to get this default removed from my credit file, but they just ignore me and Experian are no help either.
Arrow Global seem to put the default on annually, every January, stopping me from re-mortgaging etc.
Please I need some help, ideas I have tried everything I can with Arrow and the credit reference agencies!!0 -
Arrow Global can be sorted.
You just need to keep pestering the right people.

I was bankrupt in 2009 and discharged 6 months later - I have recently been trying to cleanup my credit file. All going ok except for Barclaycard - who keep sending my letters back saying they can't trace my account. I decided to phone them today and finally got them to look up the correct account number as it was a Sky card originally. It has already been marked satisfied on one credit agency but not the other two - thankfully they are now going to deal with this as a result of my phone call.
The only other one really giving me trouble is Santander - I had 2 accounts with them and one is correctly reported but the other one still showing in default with a balance. Have written approximately 4 times now - aarrrgghh!
I am having ongoing trouble with 3 (phone co). I had a phone contract when declared BR which has remained with no trouble. However when i checked my credit file they have registered an address that i have never lived in nor had any connection to! I have now spoken to them twice and they assured me they have written to the credit agencies requesting the link removed (they can't seem to explain to me why it was added in the first place). This STILL hasn't been removed though - I know they have emailed as i got them to cc me on the request last time! Any suggestions?0 -
Hi,
I had a Protected Trust deed in scotland, which i started on 17th March 2006 and signed off on the 17th December 2009.
I have checked the 3 main credit agencys - Experian, Equifax and CallCredit credit and everything pretty much ok apart from one from Santander on Equifax and CallCredit. I opened a dispute and was asked to send a letter to address below. That was on the 16th April this year but as of yet no reply.
Has anyone got any numbers or addresses that they have had luck with.
