    Hi,

I was declared bankrupt in England in 21/03/2007 and discharged on 21/03/2008.

I am trying to clean up my file now as the below (are from what I believe) incorrect. I have used Noodle(CallCredit) to obtain this information.

    Link Financial (Is this MBNA?)
    Default date: 1/04/2007
    Status: Default
    Balance outstanding

    Mint
    Default date: 05/12/2007
    Status: Default
    Balance outstanding

    Lloyds TSB Credit card
    Default date: 21/03/2007
    Status: Default
    Balance outstanding

    Lloyds current account
    Default date: 12/07/2007
    Status: Default
    Balance outstanding

Now with all the above 'open' accounts I take it I have write letters to each of the appropriate financial data controllers to get them to mark the account as 'satisifed' and ensure all dates are during my bankruptcy period?

Closed accounts (which I assume have wrong information)

    Prudential (loan)
    Default date: 19/12/2007
    Status: Satisifed
    Account end date: 19/2/2007

I assume with the above closed account I have to get them to change the dates to fit within my bankruptcy order? Is this correct?

Once this has all been done am I right in thinking I should have a 'clean' credit reference file?

Sorry for such silly questions but I just want to make sure it's all as it should be.

Any ones where the default date is later than 21/03/2007 need that date changing to the date of you BR.

Plus marked as settled or a partial settlement.

Same goes with the Prudential loan default date.

    Not yet.

But it means that it will be clear by 21/03/2013.

If you don't get the dates corrected your file will not clear up for much longer.

Thank you fermi for the quick response.

It seems that most of the accounts linked to my bankruptcy need the dates sorting out to match my bankruptcy date then, as there are some in the closed account bit that have the wrong information on.

With regards the open accounts above will they be updated to shown as settled with the correct dates once my records are updated?

From looking through my paperowkr it appears I do not (I do remember never being sent one) have a discharge notice. Will this be a major problem?
  • Just trying to clear up my record most of it is done now, however I am struggling to get one clear off, I have spoken to them on the phone back in Feb/Mar but still showing. they also said it should have come of my credit rating after 6 years of the default and it still has not.

I have sent letters as well, I am at a loss what to do now with it, so hopeing for some advice.

Also it is showing my address as my old address linked to my new one, however I filled in the form that came round to change it to say I was living at my new address, so that is showing as red on the report, how can I get that fixed as well?

    Thanks

    Dave

    Hi

I had my automatic discharge 24th may 2012.

I now want to clean up my files.

I have an up to date copy from Equifax and Experian.

I have read the information, but i am still not understanding it:sad:

I understand the letter goes to the data controller(whoever that is) But Yorkshire Bank i cannot see on the list. Also it mentions about sending a copy of my discharge, well i did not get a copy of this, and the only way i thought was paying for it.

    Please help

    Thank you:j

I was able to get confirmation of discharge in the form of a letter from the OR (The Insolvency Service in NI).

Good luck in the clearing up...:) I was discharged in June 2011 and have only started my clean up now... couldn't quite face it before! (Wish I had!)

    Hi

The address for Yorkshire bank is

    CLYDESDALE BANK PLC
    30 ST VINCENT PLACE
    GLASGOW
    G1 2HL

You would not receive a discharge certificate if you are automatically discharged but you should print a few copies of your entry on the insolvency register, this will only remain on there for 3 months from the date of discharge.

You can also ask the OR if they can provide you with confirmation of discharge.

Thank you both of you. Whilst waiting for replies i actually went on the insolvency web site and printed a copy off and emailed the information to Nottingham.

Can you advise whether i can do photo copies from the insolvency register or is is better to print a load off. Also will this be acceptable to send to the creditors for clean up?

    Thank you :j

Not too sure as I've not got that far... I'll be waiting to see the responses here too!

(I've been looking at my credit reports the past few days and I notice that many of my accounts were closed during my bankruptcy... just a few still showing as active though so I'll need to contact that lot)

It states in the clean up files to give my account numbers for the credit cards, it doesn't show on my experian or equifax at all. Have i got to dragged out all the creditors (credit card numbers) i owe money from in my O/R statement, thanks.
