I'm just starting this process. Out of interest, how long has it taken you, and when were you discharged?

I was discharged in Nov 2010, and started the clean up on the 11th of March:)

  • afternoon all,

glad to hear I am not the only one having issues cleaning up my credit file. I have written to several creditors and the only ones to not clear my defaults are HSBC! I used the letter from the site but I dont have my discharge cert. Is it worth getting it from the court and sending that off too HSBC?

Unless you are exempt the £60-70 court fee for the certificate, it seems a bit steep to do so.

    - Do you have a print out of your insolvency register details showing that you are discharged?
    - An early discharge notice if you got that?
    - Will your OR write you a letter confirming discharge?

Any of the above should really do unless HSBC are being completely anal.

    Have HSBC replied at all?

Thanks, I am willing to pay the £70 for the cert. No they have not replied at all they are being completely anal yes! But then again they were the only ones who didn't reply before my BR and lost out badly so no surprise to be honest!!

HSBC normally need a very strongly worded reminder (threat) letter before they will get off their backsides and correct things.

There is an example letter somewhere back in this thread I think?

May be a good idea to write and email copies whatever you send.

    Hi,

I went bankrupt in 07. In 2010 I sent for my £2 credit report, to check that my personal details were correct, as a government agency I was dealing with said 'none' of my details I gave them matched on Experian.

Well, they did match, and everything was correct. So that was a mystery to me, and even when I told them my details 'were' correct, they still kept saying they weren't!

But, the thing is, there was nothing on there about my bankruptcy, or any of the debts I'd had in the past. Aren't they supposed to be on the £2 one?
When everyone on here is cleaning their credit files up, are they having to buy the full credit report? If so, how much does it cost please?

    Candy

All the info the credit reference agency holds should appear on the £2 report.

But they can work out what info to supply by matching the details you provide when applying to those on their records. The most common reason that things are missing is that you haven't given them a complete address history for at least the previous 6 years, or that there are other differences in the info supplied and what they have on file preventing them automatically linking the correct account info to your file.
