  • Hi all

I have completed my clean up after my DRO. I was just wondering if the process is the same as BR in terms of default date. I was granted a DRO in April 2010 and discharge April 2011.

Currently all of my accounts are showing as satisfied or settled between April 2010 and April 2011, however some of them still have defaults between that period. Can you tell me if the defaults are allowed in the memoratum period or if they should be no later than April 2010 when the DRO was issued/

    Many thanks :rotfl:

  • Hiya,

New to this form so please bare with me!

A little bit of background - was young and naive and took out a loan for an ex partner I was living with who had a good job and whatnot. Obviously, he left me and left me in the sh*t to put it politely. So I had to make the most gut wrenching decision ever to go bankrupt at 23. I've only been discharged a year, it's a little different in Scotland so you're bankrupt a year and now I'm discharged at the ripe age of 25. Obviously I'm still very young and hate the fact that my life is over before it has begun. I have done the experian free trial and my credit report is obviously low, which was expected at 600 and odd. Now, RBS is still showing as a default one of the cards. The rest is all satisfied. Unsure where to go from here, I want that sorted first of all then can take it step by step. They were included when I had to write down who was owed money so not sure why they have taken the loan off but not the credit card???

I opened an account with Halifax, originally with their Easycash basic account but they have now upgraded me to a standard current account.

How do I go about rebuilding my credit? Everything is paid on time, direct debits and whatnot. I have a few thousand savings in the bank, I'm generally fine. I gave a little explanation as to why I went bankrupt to the credit reference agencies but whether that does any good or not, I'm not sure. So, after my rambling on here I just want some advice - I know it will take years but I'm hoping there is some light at the end of the tunnel. How do I repair this credit rating? I'm scared to apply for a basic overdraft, even £50 incase it looks negative applying for credit but the only reason I would be applying for credit is to get some sort of credit and show that I'm now responsible, I don't actually need the money. Does that make any sense? If it gets rejected it's another black mark on my credit file. Do I perhaps wait another year and then try it? or apply for a £50 or try and get some sort of low credit facility preferably through my bank as they know what I have in my accounts and whatnot. I just want someone to say my life isn't going to be totally fcked :(

Sorry for the rambling :) xxx

Hello I am looking for a little help if possible please?

Were went BR 23/7/2010 discharged 23/7/2011

Since discharge have been building up credit but only last year oct decided to try look at entries on our files and dates.

Our credit ratings are now good and excellent with experian.

Upon rechecking this week all but one default has disapperaed off our files. this is because we stopped paying them a good while before we went BR.

However there is a NR loan from when we have the 100% mtg that we actaully deafulted on (at a rough guess-no paperwork) in 2009.

This entry is marked as satisfied, default date 23/07/2010, balance £the amount owed, satisfaction date 23/07/2011.

my question is should the default date not be marked as 2009 when we actually started to default on payments? thus soon to be removed from records too?

Im thinking when i sent the clean up template letters maybe they just put in these dates wrong...or i could be wrong!!! just seems strange iv not had this problem with all the other creditors fromt he BR, so just wanted to check!

    thank you

The original default should be on or before the DRO start date. If after then it's wrong.

A D or 8 every month between that and the end of the DRO are not new defaults though. Just status updates on the original one. So if that ids what you are seeing then that is OK.

Defaults on secured loans are not quite as simple.

See the section on them in this:-> http://www.experian.co.uk/www/pages/downloads/compliance/guidance_on_defaults.pdf

Thank you Fermi! I will check what the other two reports say, as it is the noddle one which is reporting "D" and when you hover over it is says "default".

Yes, it does that on noddle which can be a tad confusing. As said though, it's a status update not an actual new default in that line of markers.

The default is the original date recorded. i.e. on the main part on the entry where it says default date = dd/mm/yyyy

Thanks Fermi, I was wondering that too.
    Also:

One of my credit cards has presumably been sold on. I don't recognise the company on noddle but it comes under the personal loan section. It was definitely a credit card. Does this matter?
    Thank you :-)
