Well, with luck it'll make The Doctor materialise in my living room......:j

Yes, well done all, teacakes, matchmakers, chocolate buttercream, smarties. Underneath it all are chocolate sponges made in dariole moulds (borrowed moulds, so extremely MSE, but only three at a time, so not very MSE after all).

Only have any left at present because they're on top of the fridge. Minor #3 has been asking all morning if she can have a 'garlic'. The whole kitchen smells of chocloate.

LOVE the Dalek cakes Mrs C, will have to show the pic to my Mum, she'll have a fit, she used to be terrified of Daleks as a kid but loves them now (I'm a bit young for the old DrWho!)
OH has gone out to do the recycling! I can't do it as I don't drive so it was that or me nagging him all day!
Also he's picking up my shopiing I left at BM's house very late last night (2 packs of VERY reduced turkey slices, OH's lunch for the week!)

Hope everyone has a productive/relaxing day depending on plans.
Off to have brief rest as DD1 off with daddy and DD2 asleep.

    Afternoon all

Am stuffed after a lovely roast lamb dinner

Love those Dalek cakes Mrs Cupier, that must have taken the patience of a saint!!!

Managed to find a nice pub that will put on a buffet for after the funeral, so that is one more thing ticked off the 'to do' list. Will go to the florists on Tuesday after I have taken some clothes into the undertakers to dress my mum in. Never realised how much preparation there is for a funeral before. But, I suppose, as I am an only child I am the one doing the running around, with help from hubby of course.

Am just watching the Grand Prix, Lewis is doing very well, makes a change to be able to cheer on a Brit where sport is concerned!!!

    Have a good day all

    hello all,

    love the dalek cakes .

I started off well today, hung washing out and was clearing the kitchen when I got a phone call. My mum is off on hols today....she had got to Heathrow and forgotten her passport. Just been on a 3 1/2 hour round trip to take it to her
And I still don't know if she made the flight! the rep came runing out from the terminal and got the passport..that was the last I know!

Needless to say I'm shattered now and won't be doing a lot else today!

    Afternoon all…

Back from Kent and tea & sympathy from my mate J Feeling less pathetic & moany today…! Thank you so much to you all for the support yesterday, it was much appreciated. Went out for supper in Tonbridge last night, at the Oriental Buffet which was very yummy. The distraction was exactly what was needed & I do feel better today.

This afternoon me & the girls have been out to Raystede (animal rescue centre) and chosen 2 cats (Lola & Nino – a brother & sister) that we will hopefully rehome next weekend J. They were rescued from Spain originally by someone, but she has now gone abroad again so they need somewhere new to live. They are about 4. Nino is slightly nervous, but both are very affectionate. I will have a go at posting a pic. I could have quite easily rehomed all 30 or so cats that need places….

HM shepherd’s pie for supper today & oldest DD is going to make it. I will be doing more clearing out & posting lots of “offered” ads on Freecycle!!

((((Hugs))))) to all those feeling poorly, down, worried about someone special, or who have had bad news. Those of you with coughs/colds that won’t go away – go to the doctors!!!! (I ignored one last year & ended up with pneumonia). So listen to me!!!!
TattyCath, hope your head is better today?
D-G, thank you – and yes, you will need your thermals, lol!!!
MrsCupier, those cakes are brilliant – very clever J
Dorry, - retreating – oh yes indeed!!! Everybody needs a bit of time & space to chill & recharge. Hope you’ve managed to relax & enjoy.
Welcome Teria, and any other newbies I have missed as well
Sammyjig, sounds like you went beyond the call of duty…. Sit yourself down & have a nice cuppa now J

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
    xx

Well, I have been MIA again and not really caught up with what is going on.

This weekend - bought new digi box for the study - it works but will not give me full frame screen on the tv. Methinks I might have to go back tomorrow.

Some accommodation in Ireland booked for when we go next month. Will just do call in B&B for first couple of days when we leave DS and partners.

DH cut the grass this morning (we are having to do it every 3-4 days with the combined rain and sun); I go out every other night and turn soil over so weeds don't get the chance to multiply. Crouch grass still a bit of a problem but getting there. Ironing now just a molehill so that is good. Bathroom and kitchen clean but I must wipe and hoover everywhere else. Having the DGSs soon.

Yesterday defrosted our No 1 freezer and DH has made a huge pot of chicken soup. I am just about to go and batch cook chilli. He got pork steaks severly reduced in Somerfield so that is dinner tonight.

    Love and hugs to all.
