Off to get the sticky
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well
Yes, I know, I am awake at a very ungodly hour for a Sunday (well, any day really). I am shattered but just can't sleep.
It is supposed to be a nice day here today, but do not know if I can be bothered to go to the carboot. Managed to get my (freecycle) wardrobe together last night - had a few screws left over but its always the same when you do a bit of DIY! Then I realised I have hardly any coathangers , so will have to go and hunt some of them out today.
My mum rang last night, my gran is in hospital again and looking at sugery. Not 100% sure what is wrong with her (she has problems with her stomach etc), but last time she was in hospital she contracted MRSA and ended up in ICU (no one thought she was going to survive). Because of that usually the docs only let her back into hospital now if she is *really* poorly.
Other than that, today is going to be a baking day. Want to make:
- Apricot flapjacks
- Apple flapjacks
- Chocolate yoghurt cake
- Bread
Hope you all have a great day!

The sun is shining and the sky is blue here so I hope it's like that for all the car boots today.
For some reason I have woken up really chesty; may be a reaction to pollen or something.
I'm supposed to be going to DGD's ballet school production this afternoon but I've not been able to get in touch with DIL to finalise the time and so on so I shall have to track her down this morning.
Dinner will be a breast of lamb roast done in the Remoska and I have some washing and ironing to catch up on .
Off to have a surf.
See you later.

Morning.
Sunny looking here, which makes a change.
I started on the paint job for my daughter's bedroom, which I need to finish asap, as there are boxes of her stuff in all the rooms and I don't like that.
Church first thing and then I am being dragged off to a steam railway for the afternoon. The bro in laws birthday.... What else do 38 year old want to do? At least I got the grass cut yesterday.
One of my ducks seems to have vanished. No idea where, I hope it's sitting on a nest somewhere....
Got the BBq out last night, but it was cold sitting outside. Shame really, you just can't sit out anymore.
Well have a nice day...NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Morning BW and all who cross/follow.
Didn't manage to get back yesterday, went off to the market to get a few bits for bringing back, and then had a sandwich lunch, siesta and off to friends for the late afternoon evening. Spent some time in their pool, had a lovely meal, Melon with Spanish Ham,Beef in Red Wine, jacket potatoes and veggies, followed by fruit salad. Washed down by a couple of jugs of Sangria. *hic!*
Drove home (DG on No-Alc Beer) we sat out to cool off before retiring, DH could then have a beer and I had a Shandy as needed something long and cool and refreshing.
Today I must sort out the washing I need todo before coming back, tackle the ironing. Decide what is staying and what will have absolutely no use in the UK for the next 8-9 weeks. Find suitable layers of clothing to wear as we travel back. I think we are going to feel the cold is maybe the understatement of the year. If it gets down to 20/21 it has been a cool night:eek: I think we will be lucky if it makes 20/21 in the day! The 10 day forecast is inferring rain for next weekendI think I need to try to pack the sun in the boot too.
((((hugs))))) to all - there seems to be rather a lot of you needed one at the moment, so help yourselves.
SD special ((hug)) for you, one day realisation will dawn, that all you need to know is the truth, and then you can move on, but doing/saying nothing leaving you in limbo is worse than knowing.
Mary43 - Hope you have a better day.
 to everyone else.
Take care - DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Donny-Gal - the way things are here you'll need a couple of thermal vests! This is the most disappointing summer I can remember and, according to the papers, people are starting to feel really 'down' about it especially as the main summer months are disappearing fast. Unless a miracle happens you will definitely feel the change in temperature when you return. Make the very most of all the sun you can get!

Wonderful sunny day today. Perfect weather for a playhouse...shame its not coming until next Saturday. Yes I will now have playhouses on brain for a week after I've ordered one.
Jobs...erm....shopping done, hoovering done (yesterday). Need to sort the washing up, and put some washing in. But OH is having a lie in today so I decided to be kind, nt clatter around and just play on the web for a while. Generous aren't I.
not sure about tea. Probably a salad with chicken drumsticks.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.0 -
Morning everyone,
I've had a pretty busy weekend unfortunately. The weather has been lovely, cold in the morning but sunshine during the day. I've got to go the mainland tomorrow and rain is forecast. Typical. DH bought home this humongous pumpkin a few weeks ago and I tackled it today. Made a huge pot of pumpkin soup, mashed a huge pot and stuck it in the freezer for recipes, and cut the rest up for the fridge. I made DH cut most of it up as my tennis elbow was playing up.
:shhh:
I'm just about to do a bit of sewing now. Haven't had a chance all weekend. Soup & leftovers for tea tonight.
Squiggly I expect better to find out now rather than later. But it doesn't help the now bit hey. Hope you had a nice night out last night.
tattycath <hugs>
Blairweech I hope it's not serious with Gran.
Goodness I better go, just remembered I put the iron on before.Byeeeeeeeeee

Good Morning All
Lovely and sunny here at the moment so washing basket will be emptied today. OH & I are about to clean the house and later on will be spent ironing and doing some paperwork. Not a very relaxing Sunday but we ended up doing nothing yesterday.
We went to the flower show which cost us £6.50 to get in, loved looking at peoples home grown veg but think I could have entered some of ours and been placed. Did have a lovely hog roast roll.
Roast beef with all the trimmings today.
Best be off, have a great day & (((hugs))) to all those in need.
