You're a bit late in the discussion...No attitude from me yet..but as I'm getting a neg I might as well make sure it is a justified one..

Thanks for that. It reads to me as if eBay want you to resolve the situation with your buyer. They're also telling you that if you sell something to someone, you're making a commitment to do so, and they can leave you negative feedback and report you as non-performing seller if you don't follow through with that commitment.
It certainly doesn't sound as though they're taking your side.
Yes it does sound like they want me to resolve it (because that is what their cut and paste response requires) and we all know about commitment to sell - that is a given and there has already been discussion about NPS and getting a neg no matter what you do. They are eBay rules for which there is no movement.
However there are encouraging signs within the text.
eBay never take sides..I just said they agreed with me. If they didn't agree with me, the cut and paste would be different (I hope) and there is no threat of a suspension..
Right I am now going to write message with attitude...feel free to pick among the bones of the text..

I had already sent the item, the buyer was a complete pain in the bottom from start to finish, including starting an item not received dispute that I'm 99.999% positive was fraudulent (he only stopped the claim when I offered to get the police involved to help find the item). Then he demanded I give him positive feedback or else he would give me negative.
I don't know if this qualifies as feedback extortion, but I reported him anyway. He never did leave me anything negative though, so maybe eBay did do something.

Well to update you on my scenario...off I went ready to pen an attitude email and refund buyer when I notice a message sitting in my inbox from said buyer asking me if I had posted item out yet. I responded and said no I hadn't and there was little point as he was going to neg me anyway. Waited a few minutes..no other message so off I went for dinner. Came back..two message left from said buyer - give me refund now and how could you have done this to a 6 year old?... and I have left you a positive so as not to ruin your ratings! As you can imagine the feedback is not pleasant...
So what to do now...

Feedback comments containing any of the following are not permitted:
Buyer did chargeback after receiving item- References to eBay or PayPal investigations
- Negative statements that conflict with a positive rating
- Inflammatory language, such as fraud, liar, cheater, scam artist, con man etc., while strongly discouraged, will not be removed
- References to law enforcement investigations
Breaches of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:- Feedback rating and/or comment removal
- Listing cancellation
- Limits on account privileges
- Account suspension
- Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
- Loss of PowerSeller status
Actually if you reread my comment you see I was referring to follow up comments and not feedback, which as we all know under the new, improved eBay must be only positive, factual and accurate.
Many times over the year I've seen glowing feedback for an eBay buyer or seller, only to be followed up weeks (or months) later by references to "chargebacks", "scammer", or "Contact Ilford Police crime no. xxxxxxxxx". These are not removed by eBay as that could be seen as interfering with an ongoing Police investigation or even obstruction. Not talking about leaving feedback, but the respond to feedback where you can comment underneath and it appears in the buyers feedback ?

I've just checked a feedback comment I made for a buyer - it appears on my page but not her page. It wasn't negative. So is it just my account or does follow up feedback only appear on the seller's account?

How would removing a feedback comment interfere with a police investigation?
Removal of a factual feedback comment by eBay could prevent other sellers from knowing that the buyer is being investigated by Police. If a seller checked a buyer's feedback, but warning comments were removed, and the seller entered into a transaction with the buyer (to later be defrauded by said buyer) then eBay could be charged with "obstruction" and possibly "aiding and abetting". A moot point but actions have consequences, even if by a large multinational (as Microsoft and eBay can attest to)."Money is truthful.
