How long did it take you to concieve?

Hi, I dont have the answer, just to say that I also have that implant in my arm and I am having it removed 4th Aug so that I can get back into a pattern of my periods before we start trying at the beginning of next year. I am 19 atm, will be 20 when we start trying so not sure how this contrasts. Can I recommend that if you go on www.cowandgate.co.uk you can have a live chat with one of the women there, they are all really helpful and lovely, I asks one of the ladies and she said 80% of women conceive in the first 2 months. Hopefully this helps a little xxXx0

I was 21 when I started trying and it took over 2 years before I fell with my first. We were young and so not too worried about if it happened yet or not and after so long just didnt expect it to happen and had planned on going to doc once we were all settled, moved half way across the country and got pregnant straight away, and there really must be something in the water here because the 2nd time I got pregnant from just not being careful 1 night 8 months after my first was born. Then 2 years after ds was born we were not careful for 1 night again and I was again pregnant unfortunatley lost that baby would have been due in january. I've learnt you just can not predict this things and so when we are ready to try again ( and we will be really careful in the meantime) I will expect nothing and may fall straight away but if it takes over 2 years I shant worry.0

took 9 months to concieve both mine - I was 24 and 27
as others have said, try not to worry about what the doctor said - they're only human and say stupid things sometimes like the rest of us!weaving through the chaos...0 -
I concieved within one month of trying with my first pregnancy, unfortunately we lost that one early on. After that it took 7 months of actively trying to concieve again. I probably would have concieved quicker if I had relaxed a bit more. In the 7th month, we weren't 'trying', jus having fun and I managed to get pregnant again. This one is due in December. Just remembered to say I am 31.0

It took me 11 months of trying with my husband. I'm 5 days over due now! I had been on the pill for years tho and it can take a while to get out of your system. We both took vitamins- I took prenatal wilkco ones and he took zinc and a few others- ask in holland and barratt if poss- they were very helpful!
Good luck!

My family are bad reproducers. I worry about it alot that when i come to want a child im going to have to wait as long as my mum did to have me: 13 years.
I know i wont leave it late to start trying cos i dont believe it will happen as quick as, although i guess you never know!!
You really shouldn't worry about getting pregnant due to family history unless you know there is a genetic reason which you have inherited.
I have a mother-in-law who worries constantly and took many years to conceive and had only one child - I do wonder that her worrying caused her to not conceive all those years. Her son, my husband, is an only child through at least 3 generations of only male children. So of course I had to put up with mother-in-law saying it would be hard. In fact I got pregnant in the first month every single time, between the age of 27 and 36, and have 4 healthy children, including 2 girls which are the first live girls born on daddy's side in many generations.
Relax and don't try to get pregnant and it is far more likely to happen.0 -
27 too old to conceive?!?!
I must be a medical miracle - i'm 36 and 11 weeks pregnant.
Conceived on 2nd try this time. Had first two at 25 and 28, both conceived at 1st attempt.
I have a very regular, to the day!, cycle, so i think that helped.:beer:0 -
I had my Implanon removed in March. I then had one period and was pregnant by the middle of April. I'm 28, and due in January.
It took me 4 months to get pregnant with my first-born, after having been on the combined pill for about 8 years.0 -
Hi,
I charted my cycle using Fertility Friend and got pregnant each time the first month (so 31 and 32!).
Do let the pill leave your system first. I came off the pill and got pregnant within secondsand we lost the baby. Apparently it's very common but the evidence is all anecdotal.
Cheers,
