How long did it take you to concieve?

Hi all

Hubby and I are hoping to become pregnant in the next year. I am on implanon just now so I need to get that out first, Apparently my body returns to normal pretty rapidly so I curious how long on average is the wait?

I am 27 which according to my Doctor will make it harder to concieve

I didnt realise I was so old lol.

But if you dont mind sharing your stories.

Thanks all

 I conceived 3 times in my 30's in the first month. We lost the first, who was due when I would have been 32.5 and had my children when I was 33.5 and 36.5. Your doctor would probably want to put me in a pickle jar to examine.;)

    Good luck trying

Although I've not been on any pills or such like I would suggest that you just need to relax. Took me 4-5 months to come down with 'something' and I was older than 27! But for others its a lot longer. But the more worried you are about it, the more wound up and stressed you will get...and the more difficult it will seem to become. The best thing to do is, relax, enjoy yourselves and see what happens.

You'll be moaning about nappies, night feeds, headaches before you know it. And that's after the 'beach ball' feeling of course.

    Have fun.

Came off the pill and on both occasions got pregnant in about the time it took DH to get his trousers off . At 30 the first time and 33 the second time. And with DS, despite holding off for an extra month because I didn't want to have a Christmas baby, therefore getting pregnant with a baby who was due at the end of January, the little blighter decided to arrive five weeks early on Boxing Day, with me going into labour in the early hours of Christmas morning. So the best laid plans and all that.............

And it looks like we made it once again

Stopped taking the mini pill on April 2nd and conceived on June 12th (according to several online due date calculators!). I'm 24.

i was your age when i tried for my first and it took a full year to fall pregnant. just when i was about to give up i got a puppy and i guess that relaxed me. the 2nd one (whenb i was even older) took 5 minutes and the 3rd about 6 months.

i knew a woman who took 10 years to get pregnant- they finally decided that it was stress and anxiety causing her to have spasms etc. preventing proper ovulation.

so much time in high school is spent on pregancy prevention that who knew it could be difficult?

about 5 minutes both times! 1st time I was 26 and the second I was 31

What I would say is to try to be prepared for it taking a wee while, but don't bank on it! When we planned number 1, we never for a second thought we'd strike lucky 1st month, so it was a bit of a shock to the system

2nd time, our thinking was "it's unlikely we'll be as lucky a 2nd time, but just in case we are, are we really ready to have another small person 9 months from NOW"

Just as well we were then!:o
