Bought one this morning in Llandudno so cheers OP.
But can someone advise me please because the chap that I am paying to set it up for me next Wednesday has told me that I need to buy:
A PS2 to USB adaptor if it doesn't have a PS2 Mouse Port (does it or doesn't it? Wouldn't have a clue where to look...)
A powered USB hub
A surge protector
And a Netgear Wireless Router DG834G if I want to use it anywhere in the house
Where is the best place to get these things from please? (and the cheapest of course...)
TIA

Router £64 at amazon
I have no idea why you need a powered USB hub or a Ps2 converter - use a USB mouse insteadNo links in signatures please.0 -
I assume it's so I can use my Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse?
What's a USB mouse? (yes I am also Hopelesswithtechnology...)Hopeless by name, hopeless by nature.0 -

My current recommendation is: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=13408784928&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=94178 which is just over £55.
Its way more reliable than the Netgear one, doesnt lose connection
I reckon its best one out as of yet :rolleyes:0 -

I've been following this thread and decided to buy the IBM, my problems are 1. When I opened it up it says it only has 32gb hard drive (already used 6) making 26 left?
2. Very slow when starting up and finishing would upgrade of ram make a big difference.
I would appreciate any coments.
Thanks
Nigel

The IBM thinkpad is not literally 40Gb because it has a built in partitition for recovery, so you can reboot the whole computer through the set up functions upon startup. This takes up 4Gb of your drive (Didn't you notice you didn't get any recovery disks with the package) this was because of the built in partition
If you have any problems you can reboot your whole computer without having to use recovery disks
The upgrade won't make a difference to the speed your laptop turns on/off, however if you use the hibernation feature you can turn on/off your laptop within seconds. Press Fn and F12 to turn off, then Press the Power button to turn back on. Your laptop will turn on/off at a much faster rate
By upgrading to 512Mb you can run more than 1 program simultaneiously at a faster rate, its well worth it (crucial.com £25)
Right, anyway the router I had a link to is callled:
Linksys Wireless-g Adsl2+ Modem Router - Gateway 4-port Switch+ Access Point Uk0 -
